Riches canceled..boooo

awww so who's gonna tell us what happened? cant they make something up and sell it to us ?

http://www.broadcastingcable.com/art...dustryid=47168

FX has canceled The Riches. A network spokesman confirmed the unsurprising news Tuesday.

The drama starring Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver was critically praised but low-rated. The show declined 44% in the 18-49 demographic in its second, strike shortened season, which ended last April.

FX executives flirted with the idea of casting for a co-production deal similar to the one NBC Universal struck with DirecTV to keep Friday Night Lights on the air. (DirecTV kicks in financing in exchange for licensing rights. The third season of Friday Night Lights premiered last week on DirecTV and will bow on NBC later this season.)

Bummer!
I loved that show. All the characters were great and it was quite a study in 'we believe what people tell us/want us to believe'

I guess "Big Love" will need to be my fix for a "population subset" that's intriguing, interesting and educational!

I haven't watched the second season yet. Maybe now I shouldn't. Too bad, I really liked it.

Me neither. Maybe they should have done a better job promoting the show.

Every time I see "The Riches" in print, it makes me think of the following:

Does that automatically make me old?

That sucks. This was one of my favorite cable network shows. The 2nd season wasn't as good as the first, but I was still interested in finding out what was gonna happen. Oh well.

I loved the show until it got deeply tangled up with the Dale character.

I loved the show...but I could have stood for less of Dale. I will really miss it -- the creators, writers and actors did a great job!

I hope the actress who played the daughter gets on another show soon. Or maybe some R rated movies

I'm in the same position. I do occasionally watch shows that I know are canceled, but this one might be a tough sell for me. Maybe I'll burn the second season to DVD "just in case".

I think the second season is worth watching, Jared Harris especially. I could also watch Minnie Driver eat crackers, but that's just me.

I didn't have high hopes it would be back anyway, there wasn't enough "reassurance" after the writer strike. You heard a lot about casting for Damages etc. but nothing about The Riches.

They had eddie izzard on the strip podcast a month or so ago. He said at that time that a new season was unlikely.

Yeah, I'm bummed to but I do agree that the uneveness and too much Dale of the second season killed it.

I liked the Dale character, and was pretty pleased with the way the show was heading. (Funny, the Dale guy is the one I'm seeing the most on other shows, but I've seen a couple of others. Glad they're getting new work.)

Damn, I was digging that new bad guy, Eamon Quinn, too. Everytime they cancel a show I was really into it, I feel like it's a party that is still going on (along with the character's lives) but I'm no longer invited.

One of my favorite shows, may have to pick up season one on DVD. Season one can stand on its own. Season two was too much like a serial cliff hanger every week.

I have been binge watching this all weekend. I have been enjoying it very much and came here to see what had been said. I haven't even googled it, just came to tcf first.

I haven't gotten to season two. Judging by these comments I am guessing it ends but doesn't really end- like tie up any loose ends or do we even know that it's ending?

Reading this I am wondering whether to even start season two. I probably will but will go in knowing that a) it wasn't as good as season one and b) it will end abruptly.
