Did we ever decide how to handle season discussions for netflix shows?

I'm looking forward to this too but, like with House of Cards S02, it will probably be a while before i get to it. I have several things on deck at Netflix right now. Ok, I might just not be able to wait long to watch OITNB S02.

If that constitutes a good show for you, have at it.

I prefer a good story.

I thought it was a very good show. Not Breaking Bad good, but really well done. Can't wait for Season 2.

I thought this was a great show. I preferred it to House of Cards.

Not sure there is enough interest for separate threads. I liked the single thread with marked spoilers (indicating which episode).

Chapman is the star of the show. No way they kill her character.

I still haven't started on Orange yet! The way things are going TV-wise, I'll probably start on S1 about the time they show S7.

That's the worst solution for me. I do almost all my forum time on forum runner which doesn't show spoilers.

Having watched a few House of Cards I definitely prefer either one thread for the season or one for each episode. The arbitrary grouping is making it impossible to keep up. With either of those options you can drop in after every episode, here you have to wait until you reach the end of the group, then try to remember what happened earlier, and not get confused because maybe you're actually one episode ahead now.

Was it a group decision to go with this grouping approach ?

It was a compromise between those who wanted a season thread and those who wanted single episode threads.

And you are exaggerating the difficulty of this approach. It is actually pretty easy to use. I put in the episode synopses so you can always refresh your memory of what happened in each episode. And waiting to finish two or three episodes before posting is not a terrible hardship.

Those who prefer a season thread can always just go to the thread for the last set of episodes and treat it as a season thread if they so desire.

So this is a decent compromise.

I disagree that it's a decent compromise. In advance I would have but now it seems like the worst of both worlds. You cannot just go to the last thread as it would be full of spoilers, which is not how the OITNB thread worked.

It's a shame you decided to make the decision for everyone.

I did not make the decision for everyone. It was a compromise, and it is working well for quite a few people with House of Cards.

It is a shame you are incapable of compromise.

Red face

I don't understand the problem with single episode threads . Is there an explanation somewhere?

My guess is that people who aren't watching the show don't want 13 threads popping up all at the same time.

But it's my preference, too.

Thanks, Robin, but really? I wonder if that has actually happened?

If you're not interested, you can't go to the next page to see what you want? I understand that it may be that most people may not want to see so many threads of the same show pop up. But am I wrong to think that most everyone would prefer it for their favourite show?

Single episode threads are also a better archive IMHO.

It's funny that in this forum for a medium that is used to time shift, there is so much emphasis on immediacy. I don't actively participate much. So, my opinion probably doesn't mean much. Just want to get it out there even if not on the main board...yet.

IMO whether a show airs once a week or the entire season is released at once, each episode deserves it's own thread. The majority of shows do have their own thread so I don't see the big deal. It would make discussing the show easier without running into spoilers of episodes you haven't seen.

I thought this worked well, particularly with the synopses provided.

One thread for the season would be the worst IMO. We watch at different rates and would have no idea how far ahead the spoilers are.

I vote for separate threads ideally, or grouped as an alternative.

I think we watched the first 3 eps and just never went back. Might have to give it another try before S2 starts.

I'm looking forward to it returning.

I vote one thread per episode. I won't be able to binge watch them and I like subscribing to threads.
