We are Men - 9/30/13 - Pilot

Surprisingly not bad. Could've been crass but had some whimsy and heart.

"Surprisingly not bad."

Not something you'd see a PR flack for the show use as praise.

How about, "I didn't vomit."

I think I'll keep the pass for a bit yet. And I agree, despite my teasing. Surprisingly not bad.

True. But that was what I was (and others here) were expecting. Bad. And it wasn't. Actually one of the better comedy pilots.

Saw it on On Demand, I didn't think it was that good.

I was expecting absolute dreck. Even the title reeks dog poo poo.

It was... ok. Gets a 2nd episode.

I liked it but it very much reminded me of a more sit com version of the show a couple years ago - Men of a Certain Age.

I am someone who can laugh at almost anything. Except this show. Deleted my season pass after 15 minutes.

Like so many new shows these season i did not think We Are Men was bad, but it also did not interest me enough to earn a season pass.

It has me for at least another episode.

Jerry O'Connell's character was cracking me up when he would go shirtless at the drop of a hat.

Wasn't bad. But doesn't deserve a SP yet.

Better than the Robin Williams show but it didn't take much to top that. It's a Jerry O'Connell show so it'll be dead in 3 weeks. I'll watch all 3 weeks though.

I sense a theme, expected it to suck and after watching it realized it wasn't too bad.

Exactly what I said to my wife last night.

Sometimes not meeting expectations is a good thing.

I expect this script was going to be the prequel spinoff of 'Men of a Certain Age' but it was shelved for good reason.

Thought it was decent. Is Tony Shaloub's daughter going to be the main female eye candy on the show?

Car Poolers

Makes me laugh every time.

I'm sticking it out with WAM. Hopefully it will last long enough to get a good footing.

I passed on this, because I just can't see Tony Shalhoub as anything but Adrian Monk or Fred Kwan from Galaxy Quest.

And I never watched Monk because, to me, he was the guy from Wings.

That is the highest praise I think any comedy has gotten this year...

Another vote for "wow, that wasn't as bad as I thought it would be". :-)

Finally watched the pilot tonight. I watched the entire thing...and I'm not sure why. Not one laugh, nothing kept my interst at all. I deleted the second episode. Maybe if it lasts a few more I'll give it another shot but it really was boring.

Dang. Cancelled already.

CBS's “We Are Men”, the comedy, which starred Jerry O’Connell, Tony Shalhoub, Chris Smith and Kal Penn, has been pulled from the network’s schedule, effective Oct. 14.

CBS has the luxury of yanking a series if it fails to meet their target goal, whatever it might be.

This could probably be a minor hit on NBC.
