Audio bug?

We have been seeing an audio issue with our Roamio Plus. I have the 30 second skip enabled... and if you skip rapidly forward in a recorded show it will occasionally (a few times a day) blast garbage audio like digital noise through the tv. Nothing clears it except turning the TV off and on. At first I thought it was the TV, but now I am sure it is coming from the tivo. While it is happening, if I switch inputs on the TV the noise goes away, but when I switch back to Tivo HDMI input it is still there. I assume powering the TV off and on resets the HDMI interface to the Tivo in some way?

This is bad... since it is VERY loud and not only scares the crap out of you, but wakes up the entire house when it happens at night.

Has anyone else seen this happen? I have the audio in PCM mode, btw... since Dolby mode does not give me the audio tones with back and forward operations.

Ive not had it using the 30 second skip, but it happens to me every single morning when I turn on my TV.

Sometimes its just a loud digital screech, sometimes the screen is a green hue along with the screeching noise.

Makes to dog go wild when it happens too!

The only thing I hear comes from my minis where when it comes out of a skip I hear a metallic digital chirp. That's quite annoying but apparently not as bad as what you're experiencing.

I had something similar to this happen once, a couple days ago. I was using the search function, and heard a very brief digital screech like you describe. It lasted for probably a half second. After that, the tivo noises did not work. I exited the menus to Live TV and re-entered the menus, and the Tivo sounds were back.

I have no had this during recording playback, live tv, or anything like that. But this weekend I was going through some of the cable card diag screens and had the "white noise"/ "digital noise" sound. I turned the tv off and back on, and the problem was 'fixed'.

I don't have 30 second skip enabled, but have had the blast of loud digital noise two or three times. You're right, def. scared the crap out of everyone in the living room!
