Tivo Roamio Service Transfer - How Long?

So I jumped on the deal that Tivo will allow me to transfer my $99 annual service from the Premiere to the Roamio, the only caviat was that I had to order the Roamio directly from Tivo. Due to the holidays, it took a week and a half to arrive.

I called CS yesterday and told them that I received my new Roamio and that I would like to complete the transfer of service. She put me on hold for a while and said that she cannot complete the transfer, she would have to submit it to the "billing department". I asked how long it would take and she said that it should be done by the end of the day.

Obviously the end of the day comes and my Roamio is still a brick. I call back the next day, and they tell me that these transfers usually take 24 hours. 24 hours goes by, Roamio is still a brick.

I chat with them today, and they said that the process can take up to 5 days to transfer. Just awesome...nothing worse for a geek to be staring at his new toy and can't play with it.

My issue is that I already sold the Premiere on eBay and need to ship it out today or tomorrow at the latest. Does anybody here have any way to contact this phantom "billing department" so that I can get my transfer pushed through sooner?

Mine was transferred while on the call. However I had a 6.95/month plan.

Aah...it finally went through 24 hours later. Such a geek tease to have a shiny new box arrive and it's a brick until they activate it for you.

Did the 7 day free service evaluation that new Tivos have not work for you?

The problem with that "free" service is that the box can't be linked to your account to do things like transfer shows etc.

Mine went through within 24 hours. I transferred the $6.95 plan.

Bingo. I needed it to be on my account in order for me to be able to transfer season passes and recordings.

But it's not exactly a "brick" either, which was the point I was getting at.
