Is the Galavant preview TiVo's First IP Streamed Ad?

I watched the "Star" Preview for "Galavant" in the Discovery Bar and noticed it was a Streaming IP based Ad rather than one recorded from the Teleworld programing. This method seems much more efficient, and could lead to many more advertisements.

Is this the first time TiVo has done this?

This could lead to Ads showing up on the Mini also, now that they do not need to record them to the HDD.

It looked different, so I've tried it a few times, no go. I get a blank screen then "Please check your internet connection". My internet connection works just peachy with Netflix etc, it is strictly default but it is 3Mbps $15 Every Day Low Price internet.

I am not complaining, I didn't really buy a Roamio so I could watch commercials. But I am curious why it does not work.

For kicks, I tried streaming this ad. It worked okay for me, but I did have some buffering and stuttering issues at the beginning. My internet speed is 15/1 Mbps on TWC.

Probably way too slow for streaming the ads. Netflix requires 7-10mbps to be fully functional.

This is much more efficient than recording them off of a TV channel though. About time- the TiVos have been capable of doing this for a decade now!

I have 50/5 Internet on TWC, and both times I've tried to launch it, I got "Please check your internet connection."

Worked fine for me. The "play" button paused and resumed play. While paused, "select" went to the screen to set up a Season Pass.

I have 75/75 on FiOS. Basically it worked fine. There were 2 small glitches early on and then it played fine.

Looks like a fun show.

75/75 FIOS and it played fine. The ad worked as I'm going to record the show.

To answer the OP, no, this isn't the first time. I recall something with fireworks a long time ago...

I liked the option to set up the season pass ahead of time. I wasn't going to watch this particular show because I found the shorter TV ad annoying "Gaaaaaal-uhhhhh-vannnnnnnnt." But I would like to have a similar ad for Agent Carter so I can set up the season pass. (yeah, I know, wishlist...)

you don't need the ad -- you can already search for agent carter and set up a SP..

I don't get that option, just wishlist or YouTube. Am I missing something?

I don't either. He probably assumed it was possible since it has been for some other series not yet in the guide.

That's crazy talk! I'll try it when I get home.

Oddly enough, when I was typing in the "Agent" part of Agent Carter, Marvel's Agents of Shield showed up as an option, but not Marvel's Agent Carter.
