Orphan Black 5/3/14 "Mingling Its Own Nature with It"

Well, my theory that Sarah would impersonate Allison doing the play was wrong... But man, that play just got worse since last week!

The various factions are starting to get a little confusing.

Meeting Kira's dad was interesting, as was the cameo appearance by yet another clone. I thought it was a little odd and out-of-character for Felix to abandon Sarah & Kira so quickly, though...I guess they needed somebody to hang out with poor abandoned Allison for a while, and Felix was nominated.

I'm starting to wonder if Art is up to something...warning Angela off the case so harshly, and then pursuing it himself as he is, makes me suspicious.

Don't die, Cosima! Please don't die!

A "meh" episode, but nothing's perfect.

The play is so unrealistically bad, it's not funny, poor writing. OB went from the brilliant scene of the attempted kidnap with Alison & the pepper spray to almost self parody this week with the play theme droning on.

I feel like fast forwarding through the religious wackos scenes, a first for me with this fine show.

I think the chances of Cosima dying are very low.

I thought "No way. That can't be. That musical is so horrid it's got to be something they made up for the show." Nope, you were right...

http://bloodtiesthemusical.ca/

Even more interesting, the rest of the people on stage are the actual cast of the musical. (http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/04/19/or...iere-creators/)

I don't think there is much to be suspicious of there. There is good reason to pursue Helena and that cult. Not much reason to harass Alison. Art knows most of the story, but Angela does not, so she could cause trouble for the good clones.

I was going to post the same thing (and thought I'd get killed for it here )

I think they needed it to forward the story some. I'm still not getting the connection between Helenda and the cult, but I'm sure it will get explained more as we go along (I keep thinking about the cult like the one in Big Love).

Kira's dad sure gets around. He's been on three shows I've watched in the last year: Treme, Game Of Thrones and Orphan Black.

I noticed that they're making life a bit easier this year on Tatiana Maslany by not having shared scenes as often, and it's mentioned in at least one review that the newly dead clone Cosima is watching was done on video to make things a bit easier.

I still miss 3 clones on screen at the same time but love the fact that to me they're all separate characters and I'm stunned to think the same actor is playing them all.

Yup. I rewound that scene just to make sure. He definitely had a clean shot.

He could not take the shot because they had to get in the cliche car coming out of nowhere to crash into the side of the protagonist's vehicle.

Tatiana doing Cosima doing Frewer doing Leekie was so spot on, though.

Could it be the same car that t-boned Claire Danes in Homeland in exactly the same fashion? We got to retire that thing.

He definitely had a clean shot, but he's not a killer. From what he knew, this guy was just trying to kidnap Sarah, and at that point she'd agreed to go as long as the guy didn't also try to take Kira. Cal also knew that the guy had just murdered a policeman, and may very likely murder the rest of them if Cal tried to shoot him but missed. So it's really not that surprising that he didn't take the shot.

Perhaps he is the only TV show character ever who owns a gun but is NOT capable of getting off hip shots that would make a trained sniper weep... and he knows this about himself? So he's not willing to risk getting Sarah killed with a less-than-perfect shot (although Cal has a clear shot, Daniel always has his gun pointed at Sarah).

Cal knows the roads much better than either Daniel or Sarah and apparently he felt he had a better solution... not sure I would have used it but it seemed to work out.

That's absurd. It is much harder to broadside a car like that than it is to shoot someone with a shotgun from 20 yards. And the risk to Sarah is probably about the same in either case.
