Walking Dead spinoff series in the works

According to this article, AMC is planning a spinoff series from the Walking Dead...

Is there such a thing as too many zombies?

From what I heard it takes place at the same time as the current series but just a different location/cast. I'll give AMC the benefit of the doubt but with this and a Breaking Bad prequel I guess they're running out of fresh shows to develop.

I'm more excited about this than "Better Call Saul" or whatever it will be called. A new cast for a walking dead show has lots of fertile ground to develop without the limitations or expectations of the comic series. A Breaking Bad prequel couldbe really good...or it could really fall flat, especially with such high expectations that would go along with it.

Maybe this show will contain likable characters. I hate pretty much all of the characters in the original. I don't even care when the zombies eat them.

Maybe it will have actual smart characters who figure out how to survive. IE, get to the coast, and get a sailboat. Find a place like Jamestown, RI, which has a section that can be cut off easily (just one road.) From there, block the bridges, and clean out the island of zombies. More people show up? Fine, then just take Newport, Middletown, and Portsmouth. And while you're at it, go clean up Block Island, Prudence Island, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard. Then live like kings.

As long as the new characters have realistic shooting skills, it has potential.

On second thought.. maybe not.

I'll watch. I'm happy with the current show but would like to see another side of the ZA.

How about a zombie show from the zombie's perspective?

Joe Zombie enters stage left.
Joe Zombie: "uuuh uhhhh uhhhhhg"
Joe Zombie eats rotting flesh.

Fade to credits.

That would be "In the Flesh".

Another board I read suggested a 'March of the Penguins' approach, following a group of zombies.. complete with narrator.

I'd like to see the story from the military's point of view. Maybe a small base or something.
