The Roosevelts: An Intimate History on PBS

The Roosevelts: An Intimate History on PBS

Is anyone watching this? I didn't catch the first few, but what I've watched so far has been absolutely fascinating. The historical footage they've dug up is amazing.

It is in 7 parts, of which most have already aired but they are re-airing them again starting tomorrow (9/20) and then some more on Sunday.

I've set my TiVo to catch them all this weekend. It is really very well done and very interesting. If you are a history buff, this is probably a must see.

I've only watched the first episode, but I agree it is fascinating. One of Ken Burns' best, and that is saying a lot.

The entire miniseries is also available on the PBS Roku channel.

My father raved about it, so I scheduled the mini-marathons that start tomorrow.

We watched about half of the first. It's interesting and plan to watch the rest.

One of Ken Burns' best? Really? I have not watched any before, but I'm not too impressed so far. Yes, they've dug up interesting photos.

Thanks!! Did not know this. Instead of waiting until tomorrow's marathon, I can start watching tonight. Thanks!

No marathon on my PBS channel. I missed the first 2 eps, too. Guess I'll find the PBS app on the Roku.

I hadn't heard about it until I saw the Ken Burns interview on The Daily Show earlier this week. I set up a season pass to get all the episodes right afterwards. I missed the first two, but they're being aired on Saturday so I'll be able to catch up on the entire series.

I'd love to know the history of the photo of Teddy in the window of his house watching Lincoln's funeral procession.

Burns' fame let him pull an all-star cast of actors (Meryl Streep, Edward Herman) for reciting the writings of the documentary's principals, and of course Peter Coyote is the main narrator.

I never realized that Eleanor Roosevelt was her maiden name.

7 parts? I guess 7 hours, since I know it was run in 2 hour chunks (except the last I guess).. and I manually scheduled a recording for this weekend.

14 hours. Seven two-hour episodes.

I'm on episode 3 and finding it very interesting! Plus, I could listen to Peter Coyote's voice all day, every day.

I think the series is great! Eleanor was truly an amazing women. The way she stood up for equal rights for everyone, is heart warming. She is an American hero.

My mother named a dog we had Fala.
