KMTTG on OSX -> Custom Command help

Looking for guidance / help.

KMTTG on OSX and looking to have the file once processed as an AppleTV, ComSkip, MetaData put into iTunes. Encoder Out files have their own directory.

I played with using Automator to do this by moving any new files to
iTunes\ iTunes Media\Automatically Add to iTunes
where the file would autoload into iTunes Library. Issue is that the metadata file is put there first, before download/decrypt/comskip/encoding, and that file (the Metadata) is moved too quickly, and Automic Parsley does not have it to run at the end. --- I Could try to 'copy' the files, but would have a double storage need until I clean up the encoded files.

I then tried to write a shell script to move the file. The following in a text file named move-it.sh in the same directory as kmttg jar file;

Quote:
mv -f "$1" /Volumes/Raid5-upper/iTunes/iTunes\ Media/Automatically\ Add\ to\ iTunes/
did the chmod +x move-it.sh

then on the Programs Tab of the Configuration of kmttg I put
Quote:
move-it.sh [encodeFile]
it did not work

So, does anyone have a working solution that moves the completed (post metatag) file to another directory?

If those escape backslashes are really part of your script then that would explain why it didn't work. Use forward slashes only and if there are spaces or other special chars then surround whole thing with quotes. i.e. Something like:
Code:
mv -f "$1" "/Volumes/Raid5-upper/iTunes/iTunes Media/Automatically Add to iTunes/"
Plus, you can try running your script outside of kmttg 1st to debug it 1st, then add it to kmttg setup once it's working.

Trying the Quotes... I did run the script from the cmd line and it did work, but.... I also added explicit path to the script location in KMTTG

thank you, will let you know if it worked.

If you didn't have full path to script before then that is likely why it wasn't running.

did not work

I searched the log and the shell script move-it, does not even show up. I would assume if it failed or ran, I would get a log entry. Seem like the feature is not working.

To test you can go to FILES tab, add the file to move and in task list only enable the "custom" task, then click on Start. You have to make sure in kmttg config you specify the full path to your move-it script. If full path to your script contains spaces in it that could be the problem.
(It does work as I use it all the time as do many others).

Thanks all... working back with Automator. I am now doing;

Quote:
Folder Action:
--Filter Finder Item
----Movie
--Pause
----2 Minutes (I will adjust as needed, but there is no rush, just want Automic Parsley to finish)
--Copy Finder Item
--<Path>/Automatically add to iTunes
I will change the Copy Finder Item to MOVE once I am happy with the results.

Benefits of a Mac and OSX.
