FCC: National Emergency Alert System test failed on 27% of cable headends

Is anyone surprise by this? :roll eyes:

Well, it is kinda surprising that it only failed on 27% of them :-).

Speaking of emergency broadcasts - my friend has a phone which is apparently capable of getting the new cellphone emergency alerts. We were in a meeting the other day and it gave everyone a heart attack when it started doing the Woop! Woop! Aoogah! alarm out of nowhere, which led me to wonder:

What happens on an interstate highway packed with cars zooming along at high speed when every cellphone in every car scares the stuffing out of every driver all at the same time?
