Netflix experience faster on Mini as opposed to Premiere?

My current setup is a Premiere 4 with 3 Tivo Minis. I immediately noticed that the Netflix app loads considerably faster on the Tivo Minis-- so much so that I am thinking of putting the Premiere 4 in the basement as the recording hub, and just using the 3 Minis throughout the house. Has anyone else noticed a peppier Netflix experience with the Mini? Also, it stumps me because I was told by Tivo support that the mini pulls the Netflix app from the host box (in this case the Premiere). My experience would seem to indicate that this is not true.

I'm pretty sure that isn't true. My understanding is that the Mini has its own Netflix app and connects to the internet directly.

I have a Premiere XL4 headless in the basement and Minis at the important TVs due to peppier response across the board. Premiere is better since Haxe rewrite but Roamio and Mini are better yet.

The streaming apps run locally. The Mini has a similar SoC to the Roamio, which is much newer and faster than the Premiere. The Minis are also getting software updates in sync with the Roamio, while the Premiere is a few months behind. The Minis are significantly faster than the Premiere, although the difference isn't as glaringly obvious as it was before the new Premiere software.

The Haxe update helped the main UI on the Premiere, but the apps are still dogs. The Roamio and Minis are WAY better at running the apps because of their faster CPUs.

Interesting. I didn't realize that, since I don't use the apps. I use Roku/AppleTV/Chromecast/FireTV/Sharp Smart TV/HTPC/XBOX for that stuff. I'm pretty pleased with the way the TiVo UI itself works now post-update.

I'm wondering if this is why there was a delay in the Amazon and Vudu apps? The Amazon app isn't a screamer even on the Roamio, so I can only imagine it's a total dog on the Premiere.

After all the software updates on my Premiere XL4, I decided to shelve it in another room to share with an Apple TV, and I've moved my TiVo Mini to the living room. Live TV is very fast and all the apps like Netflix and YouTube are so much faster to use.
