what shows do you still watch but wish got canceled?

i dont know if you call it sentimental or foolish but when i start watching something, i pretty much go with it til the end. i just want to see how it continues and i hate to let the actors down because i know they rely on me watching. plus i hate wasted effort. i cannot remember the last show i watched 1 ep then canceled the SP because it's been that long.

for years i hoped ER got canceled but it took 4 years then i was glad it was over. i was glad zero hour was canceled but i watched to the end. i think deception is a stupid soap opera for prime time but the mystery part of me has me hooked. black gold pretty much is the same thing every season but i watch it. i'm getting to hate the drama on survivor but i'll never stop ( just FF thru in like 15 min)

1600: the son kills me in a bad way but ill watch it. and i doubt this really counts but my local station runs stargate repeats every weekend and i always watch them even though i have a set of dvds with them...sick i tell you

so what shows will you continue to watch until the end?

Top Gear US.

I can't stop watching because they continue to call it Top Gear.
Won't shed a single tear when it goes away.

Being Human UK.

It's been horrible the past couple of seasons, but it was so good in the beginning, I keep watching and hoping.
That being said, current series(season) 5 is the last, or so they say.

HIMYM is the last one. I'm in until the bitter end on that one.

Secretly, all of them. What I could do with that time!

HIMYM, is definitely up there. Fortunately it seems like only one more season to endure.

Pawn Stars is growing old. I hate how they have tried to add some sort of plot to it by having them act like jerks to each other. You can tell that the shots are contrived, and they've probably done a dozen takes. They are horrible actors when they try and act.

The Knight Rider reboot from a few years ago was a show of this type for me. I am happy it is gone. I watched(enjoyed?) every single episode.

I understand your sentiment, as I often stick with a show longer than I should. I have pulled the trigger a little more lately than I used to.

But one thing you said puzzles me...

Are you saying if you watch a single episode, you're locked in for life?

Once I like a show, then yeah, I fall into this pattern. But if you watch the pilot and decide it's not your kinda show, why on earth would you feel committed to watching it forever?

Maybe I'm confused.

Smallville.
We've finally reached the final season and, surprise, there have been a couple of really good episodes. But I wouldn't have missed this whole thing on balance had they pulled the plug a decade or so ago.

Primeval New World.
Episode 3 is next to watch. Would jettison the whole batch, but some people say it got better near the end of the run. Plus we're rationing the original, only a few episodes left of that wonderfully cheesey series, and this helps stretch it out.

Merlin.
We watch one episode every couple of months or so, I think we're up to s01e05. Kinda like it, lukewarm, but wouldn't miss it if it had been cancelled early.

Last Resort was this way for me, right from the start. I made it through to the point where the cancellation was announced, and then gave up on the one or two last episodes.

i know there was one show in fall i did this to and it's probly here in the forum but i'm too lazy to search. but 98% of the time ive researched a show and knew what it was about so unless the 1st ep is that bad, i continue to watch...when zero hour showed the 1st show it took me a while to watch the 2nd, but i did, and wished it was canceled. it's more about the 'what happens' in a show i guess

that being said there's a very large number of shows i dont start watching, which may be more than most people

The Following
An absolute train wreck despite a seemingly great cast that lured me in. Horrible writing. Nonsensical behavior by the characters. Thankfully the TiVo thread comments are often hilarious.

Smallville was my prime example of a show like this. Every season, I stuck it out because I thought it couldn't possibly get renewed because it was getting so bad, and they would renew it every single time, so much so that it became a running joke with a good friend. We actually use Smallville as a verb now to describe the phenomenon-- as in when they announced HIMYM was renewed for another season this year, "HIMYM Smallvilled us!"

I know Ronnie and Amy.. their shop is about 2 miles from my house so on the one hand, I want them to suceed. On the other hand, their schtick was better when they were on All Worked Up. The repos I dont really have a problem with, its the storylines theyre trying to work into the show. The acting is terrible and the storylines, as loose as they may be, just dont work.

The funny part about it, tho, is I dont know whats real and whats not. Ive seen Ronnie a few times where he looked like he just got his ass kicked. At my wedding he had a broken arm. You could see where the break was protruding against his skin but he didnt get a cast until the Monday after my wedding because he didnt want to have a cast on for the wedding (Which was cool of him). Either way, good to see a local boy make good. Ronnie and Amy are both pretty nice people.. Im glad theyre doing well for themselves.

Hate to say it, but "Glee"

90210 is getting cancelled/not renewed, so I don't need to wish for that one now.

I suppose I could add "Heart of Dixie" too. I watch it and I loves me some Rachel Bilson, but the show is pretty much a waste of time.

This ^. Count me in with not understanding why someone would watch a show they once liked and no longer do.

I used to love CSI, CSI Miami, NY, NCIS.... I don't watch any them anymore. One day I just grew tired of the sameness and predicitability of them. So one by one I dropped them. Haven't seen an episode of any of them in over 4 years. Not even reruns.

Of course I can't explain why I still watch Burn Notice which is also kind of predictable, but I guess I like the characters better.
