good wife season finale

i'm glad we got the surprise at the end, if it was will i was going to be very unhappy! i think being the 1st lady means the new business will have all the business anyone wants. i'm surprised they even allow her to work because of potential conflicts. but i'm sure this happens in real life all the time.

bringing your babies to court will not gain any favors unless maybe theres a jury there. the way they ran from place to place was funny

the nanny for the grandma taking the money and not running was truly classic. he knows he cant ask for the money back nor really force him out since he's now the gov.

wouldnt free legal services for 2 years cost more than 20% discount on the rent? but it's a guaranteed client i guess.

will not wanting to hurt alicia was a tad admirable but flaunting it in front of the gov was just unclassy.

So my question about the very end (and I will say I fell asleep during the last 15 minutes but saw the last scene). After inventing all kinds of money on getting the partnership at LG, how can she go to the new firm? Does she get her partnership money back? Where does she get her buy in?

I had read something that she can get her equity stake out (I believe David Lee threatend to leave with his back during the early receivorship), so I don't think that will be a big deal.

I love the ending, as it sets up a lot of new ways for the principal cast to relate to each other.

Cary vs. Alicia as leaders of the new firm.
C/A vs. Will/Diane as rival firms
Kalinda vs. Cary
Kalinda vs. Robyn

Will Diane still be leaving to be Supreme Court justice? Will it just be Will and David Lee?

Did Alicia leave because she wanted distance from Will?
Did Alicia leave because she wanted independence from the firm, freeing up a path to Will?
Did Peter have a part in the ballot stuffing?

Don't law firm partners have to be lawyers?

Yes he is.

You definitely have to be a lawyer to be a partner or rich individuals would have gobbled them up long ago.

Not sure why you conclude THAT. To be a partner, you have to have more than an equity stake and a law degree: You have to be accepted by the other partner(s.)

Ok then have you heard of an initial public offering for a law firm?

You have to be a lawyer to be an equity partner. Google it if you're not sure.

The answer is yes, except in DC:

http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2...ers-wilmerhale

Looks like there may be a push to change this, according to the article.

I read this morning a quote from the Kings (the creators) which actually states the opposite, that Alicia went with Cary to give herself distance from Will and his pesky sexual magnetism. Of course they also add a caveat that sometimes what we want doesn't match what happens.

That's how I saw it. With Peter being Governor now, I don't think she wanted to risk a scandal for his administration.

seems to me that if she was the partner there that people would flock to her (possibly due to name recognition) and then if there were some big death penalty (or equivalent) case she could maybe use her pull with the gov to get a more favorable result.

then again the world is all about who you know, not what you know

I understand why some might not WANT her to work, I'm curious how it would be disallowed.

If it wasn't a conflict of interest when he was the state's attorney, then I can't imagine how it would be if he is the governor.

I was in disbelief when Alicia left the win party with Peter.
It just seemed implausible that she would be able to slip away.

She left because she is 'the good wife'.
Removing herself from Will is the best thing for her marriage.

Well, for being "the good wife", she certainly has done some naughty things, if you ask me.

I guess that's the difference between "the good wife" and "the perfect wife"
