survivor 2/20/13

what are the implications of not doing what you would say, playing the idol?

i FF thru most of this because i dont like the soap opera aspect but i'm glad i caught that. in the beginning of the show, mini russell sure was a firecracker. there had to be more off camera stuff said to calm him down.

still woulda been nice to see him go ape on the camp for comedic value

the bulge in the pants comment was an all time classic

So all this build up from last week about lil Hantz blowing up and really, we just got him talking about doing it. What a letdown!! I really expected him to fly off the handle and get to the point where they throw his butt off the island.

So far this season is a big meh. Again, maybe I'm just bored with the show.

Was there a rule, during the immunity challenge, that said only one person at a time could enter the water to pull out the sticks?

Mini Russell is just a jerk. He doesn't have the balls that his uncle has and I really don't like his uncle.

That said, what the heck happened to the Fans out in the water. Why was the same person going in over and over. They lost time there. Bad idea.

I think there was, but I wondered did the Fans think that they couldn't change people until they pulled one out?

i wish we did have a ruling but no way would jeff let them get away with it if only 1 was allowed.

still, i was hoping someone would have explained their reasoning for not tagging out even if they believed that was the rule

maybe the other 2 were afraid of water?

love in the diary room when she mentioned 'the beautiful people'

i wonder, when they go home and watch themselves with their friends and family..does everyone think they are conceited or just are all of the same mind?

You're pretty bad if you get voted out ahead of Shamar.

Jeff kept pointing out that the fav's were rotating divers--I wonder if the other team could hear him? Maybe that's what they were saying about bad organization--they picked the 3 lightest weight girls to be on the raft without asking if they could swim.

If the woman (whatshername that is a Franchisee) has her way, Shamu will be around for a long time. He's her "Phillip" meaning that useless guy you keep until the end so no one votes for him.

I thought they did talk about who was swimming and who wasn't when they were in the huddle. I think the other team did it better by mixing up the male/female ratio.

Yeah, both teams huddled up to discuss. I think the fans just did a bad job of it. They put the light girls on the raft and the big dudes pulling, not even thinking about weather the 3 going out could hold their breath very well.

The favs mixed up their guys pretty well. While they didn't do as well on the raft as the fans (remember, the fans made up a ton of ground and overtook them going out), Erik and the girls who dove for the favs crushed it.

For once, the producers didn't clearly tip who was being voted off by giving them all the screen time. Allie must have been a heck of a bore fest!

That challenge didn't really require much swimming ability. They just had to go down a couple of feet and pull out sticks. They didn't have to swim far or deep or hold their breath for very long.

I thought it was pretty obvious that the fans' strategy was to have Sherri do all of the diving herself, thinking it would save time vs. having to climb out of the water. This was evident by the fact that Sherri didn't even attempt to get out and the others weren't encouraging her to get out. It was obviously a poor strategy in hindsight, but given the limited info they had upfront, it might have worked I'd there hasn't been so many sticks to pull or if Sherri were a stronger swimmer.

no but there's a big difference between swimming a lap and going down a few feet for 'an extended' period of time. i dare say the diving is a bit more scary

To Mark Burnett: The next time you have a season that includes "favorites" can you please at least put a little bit of thought into who should be considered "favorites". Thank you.

I thought this too, except some of these seem to be the favorites not in the 'we like them' category but more in the 'talked about the most crazy' players and some seem to be 'give them a second chance' players.
