Question Insight into TiVo through an "internal" presentation?

I don't know where to post this or of what value it might really be, but, I just came across this:

Seems to be an "internal" presentation on how they're onboarding MSOs and other jargon around various technologies they use. It mentions HME, anyhow ;]

(side note: very cool website... not free accounts, though)

I don't know if this was left "public" accidentally or not.

Interesting... not the only "internal" presentation there. (that first one is apparently by a fresh-out-of-school intern)

"Marketing is trying to convert PLS (product lifetime) users to Series 4 boxes"?
That is one of the examples of a sentence in acronyms.
I wonder if that really was a attempt at one time, and how were they trying to do it? Certainly not by transferring lifetime service.

Or maybe it was only an example and never really happened.

They did offer upgrade discounts to the Premiere line from earlier models, so that may have been related to trying to get people off their PLS boxes from S3/HD and earlier.

The presentation doesn't say convert them at a loss, it just talks about creating marketing campaigns to convert users to new hardware.

And I do think TiVo implemented a number of marketing pushes to sell to existing customers. Key word - Sell...
