Alf "Tonight, Tonight" 10-24-88

Great episode. Alf host the Tonight Show and there are tons of cool guests (Ed McMahon, Rich Little, Tommy Newsom, Dr. Joyce Brothers & Frederick De Cordova. This show is great and isn't on hiatus like Lost and Heroes!

Geez, could you put *SPOILERS* in the title if you're going to give us spoilers?

I hope the animated series is as good as the original.

Wake up man! It's a glorified CLIP SHOW!

I skipped "Newhart" for this?

I loved it. Plus it was great to get my mind off the elections, I'm SO over Michael Dukakis already.

Save ALF! Everyone email Showtime and ask them to pick it up so it isn't canceled forever!

Dude, it's better. If you think Alf is funny on Earth, wait until you see his shenanigans on Melmac. It's a non-stop laugh riot.

If Hogan's Heroes is in HD, why not Alf?

I was 10 when that aired, but I've had his sing-song taunt stuck in my head ever since.... (To "Alouette") "I'm not listening, I can't even hear you, I'm the guest host, you are just a guest...."

Just hook up your HDTV to the ship's antenna, and point it to sideways...

Can't believe i missed it...i was watching Magnum P.I. I can't wait to grow a mustache like Magnum and have a crib like the Robins Nest, or a cool bubble helicopter like his buddies.

Well this episode was when "Alf" jumped the shark. Don't worry if you don't know what that means, it'll be another 10 years or so before that expression is common knowledge.

If the show doesn't make it, Alf can probably try his hand at making commercials for one of those telephone long distance companies.

I predict we are going to see a lot of Andrea Elson (Lynn Tanne, the daughter) in the future. This show is just a springboard for her talents.

I agree, her range is incredible. She tackled drama in Whiz Kids, and now comedy here. I look forward to seeing her in future Star Wars installments.

No questions answered, more mysteries introduced. I don't think they know where they're going with this show.

This episode, along with the rest of the series (99 episodes, but not the pilot) are on Hulu! I guess it's been there a while, but I just discovered it. Watched 8 episodes with my son this weekend. Can't wait to watch the rest. Loved this show when it was on.

Seriously, HH as filmed. Film can be scanned in HD. The films supposedly exist as such they can scan it in HD.

ALF was shot and taped in SD video (there wasn't HD then). SD video doesn't necessarily convert well to HD.

Umm, if it's on topic, responding to a 3 year old post IS more astute than starting a new thread.
