R10 Directtv / Tivo receiver resetting

Several times a day while watching tv the receiver quits, then resets itself.
Any help to fix this ?

Just red thru all posts on both threads.( If it helps I'm in the Phoenix metro area ).
I've had a lot of CS contact with Direct but no help. First told by 2 CSR's that " it's a software problem and should be fixed in 72 hours, if it isn't, call us back ".
Wasn't fixed, called back, was told the same thing with " about a week " substituted for "72 hours".
Got angry, asked to be transferred to Customer Retention Department, got them, told them everything, and they offered me what they called a " DVR Upgrade " free. Accepted it, even though they could not tell me what model I would get, since they would not know what was in stock at the warehouse when it was shipped. The paperwork smply says it is a DIRECTV Plus® DVR.
Read in these posts about a possible cause being the phone connection, checked it and it was not working. Selected another phone #, connection worked fine, will watch for more rebooting if none happens for 12 hours or so will report that here, also if reboot does happen.

Mine just started resetting too!

I am so frustrated with it that I am considering dumping DirecTV! They are not really being supportive of TiVo, and I should be able to move to Comcast now. Then, I could get an HD TiVo.

All of 4 my DriecTV R10 SD systems reset last at 8:55 PM last night. As ours R10 reset, my son yelled at his R10 at the same time. We were recording and he was playing back something recorded. When I checked, the other two were powering up too. At least we got the 1st 55 minutes of Castle recorded. After that it went downhill. We tried to watch a 30 minutes recorded show, and the system restarted itself 2 times. Took us 50 minutes to watch the show. If other people are experiencing this, it has to be a DirecTV problem. Is there a good web site that we can watch TV episodes we are missing - until this is fixed by DirecTV. Hate to say it, but how long do we give DirectV before look for different alternatives to DirecTV. I've been a DorecTV customer for a long long time.

Just heard from my DirecTV contacts and the problem has hopefully been fixed. Tivo engineers made some tweaks to the Advance Program Guide (APG) stream, so no software update is required. Note that you may experience one more reset until the new APG data fully downloads to your Tivo. Keeping my fingers crossed!
