Deals, Promos, Specials, Coupons, Bargains discussion

For those shopping new boxes - please share any discounts you might have received and how it was done!

We currently have a Premiere Lifetime and would like to soon go to a Premiere 4 Lifetime.

The only "deal" I get is $100 off Lifetime (online existing customer discount)
Premiere 4 - $250
Lifetime - $400 (regular $500)
Total $650

Not a great deal - we'll wait for now until something better comes along.
I've already added 2 more channels of HD recording using EyeTV anyway... and it was very inexpensive!

I got a TP4 from Amazon for $229 (free ship), still that price with only 4 units left.

I noticed today there are a couple of used Premiere 4's showing up on Ebay already. One right now at $66 and another at $160 Buy It Now price.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/271097539824...84.m1438.l2649

The $160 one has $33.95 shipping on it though which is high.

Upon closer look, that $160 Buy It Now offer is actually for a 2 Tuner Series 4 Premiere- Model TCD746320...

I haven't bought from them before, but Solid Signal has this one listed for $209.99 + $8 S&H.

Oh and the Solid Signal is a good deal. I've bought from them before other things, but not a Tivo. They do have good customer service.

I see a problem of confusing TiVo Series 4 with the 4 tuner model (also a series 4) unless the model number is used.

Yes, so far $218 shipped on a P4 is the best price I can find - I doubt Black Friday will do better but one never knows!

Tivo had an offer of a refurb Premiere 2 Tuner model with lifetime service for $399 a while back. Does anyone know if that offer is still around or what the details are?

Black Friday 2012

This is supposedly the Black Friday ad/specials?

http://www3.tivo.com/promo/blackfriday/3month.html

Huh? No real bargains there.

I just bought it for $218 elsewhere - don't know what the issue is with Tivo... they can't even seem to compete with their resellers who buy it wholesale from them.

I was thinking of picking up a Premier with lifetime as a Christmas gift for my parents. Looks like the cheapest refurb with lifetime would be roughly $460 via the Black Friday link...

Is anybody offering deals on Premiere XL4s? TiVo and Weaknees are selling at full retail.

ABT has them listed on their website on sale for 379. Usually if you call ABT and speak to someone you can get them even lower.

Weaknees has them for 350 but only via a special link (which I got by email)

I'm biting the bullet but was hoping for just a little bit more off...
