Christina Applegate monologue
Gillette Fusion Proglide Styler commercial
The Californians
Tech Talk

Odysseus Faces the Sirens
The Hell-Oween Ball
Passion Pit performs
Jillian Chizz Dance Studio

Cold open was pretty good, that water gag was funny.
Holy **** that monologue was one of the best performances I ever remember seeing from a host.
I had no idea she could sing.

I got zoomed by the Gillette commercial. My brother texted me that he thought it was a riot and I must of missed something. So Jerry was in the commercial, so what?

Christina did a phenomenal job in The Californians, really great job on the accent. Tech Talk and GUAODB were hilarious.

Good WU, that Arianna impression is just awesome, Jean K Jean very good as well.

Man I gotta give Christina a lot of credit for showcasing her singing in a second skit, the girl can sing. Is she known for her singing?

Anyone else get the weird cut at the end of Hell-Oween? The Principle was still going and they put up the graphic over him, then cut to commercial.

Wow that was one real solid show, Christina was an excellent host.

Pretty good showing by CA, but Jean K Jean still sucks. Hard.

Christina was channeling Kristen Wiig in the last skit about the dance studio. BTW, that's a good thing.

When you just mention "Jerry" in the Gillette commercial parody, I automatically think of Seinfeld ... but you were actually referring to Sandusky. That was a hoot!

According to Wikipedia, in 2005, she starred in the musical Sweet Charity on Broadway. Nominated for a Tony.

Tech Talk - I didn't realize the iPhone complaints were so mainstream. I'm used to hearing about those in the podcasts I listen to. Skit is cracking me up.

I normally don't watch SNL at all, but heard about the skit from a FB friend. I posted a link to it in the iPhone thread.

Was pretty funny.

Stuff about Foxconn has made maintstream media. See http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb...26#post8965326 re: at Nightline ep.

There was also the Mike Daisey stuff, that was later retracted (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb...88#post8999488).

I think it was supposed to be like that? A sort of "fade out" effect.

Christina ♥

This is the first time since the new season started that I realized how much I enjoyed the DIGITAL SHORTS.

Seriously - they can't do those with Andy?

I really loved Tech Talk. That sketch is going on my personal "best of SNL" list. I must have rewatched Nasim's "Traditional Sarcastic Dance" about 5 times; it kept cracking me up.

The singing sirens became a lot funnier when the guys finally succumbed and started the dancing. They should have had them dancing from the very beginning and then just helping each other from diving overboard.

Cecily Strong is pretty hawt.

Much better than the Daniel Craig and JGL eps. Kate McKinnon's going to be promoted to full cast member any second now, it seems.

Aidy Bryant didn't appear at all, did she?

I thought maybe he was adding another set of teeth, to exaggerate the smiling effect-but yes, that must have been it.

It was so funny at the end of the debate when "Biden" erased "Ryan's" fake "Eddie Munster" hair off his forehead!

No love for Usain Bolt? I thought he was funny! In the debate and "The Californians!" Although it would have been funnier in the debate if he said that Ryan won the 100 meters at the Olympics...

I too enjoyed the dance of sarcasm on "Tech Talk" -first world problems, ahhhh....

Yeah, it looked like they came unstuck maybe? I saw him fixing them twice.

Seems like they should have had three beautiful women and a little boy standing there in the one shot near the end of the ad -- otherwise it was just a showcase for the "SNL" hair/makeup department ("look, we can make Jay Pharaoh look like Andre 3000 does in that one commercial").

The best L.A.-centric joke in this sketch was the disagreement over the presence of a Umami Burger on Santa Monica Boulevard versus "Little Santa Monica" -- that obviously went over the heads of the New York audience.

I think so, yes. I felt bad for him, that's a tough thing to have go wrong on live TV, particularly in this format-there's no way to turn to the side and fix them.

A band.

I like them, listen to the quite a bit, but their music is so heavily post-produced that they really sounded bad live. That was the first time I had heard "Take a Walk" live, and it was a far cry from the studio version. The bass, drums and background vocals were pretty bad live.

I think the joke in the Gillette commercial was that the real commercial features three guys of whom nobody thinks "That guy is really sexy". Andre 3000? Come on. It's a strange commercial for that reason. The addition of Sandusky is saying "Here's the least sexy guy ever. He fits this commercial as well as anyone."

I thought him "fixing" his dentures was just a joke about Biden's denturey smile. Ha, ha, fixing your dentures is something Biden would do. There have been a lot of comments about his dentures during the debate.

This. I thought it was just a dig on Biden's age compared to Ryan.
