Premiere 4XL HDMI not working

Just replaced my series 3 HD with a 4XL. Nothing changed other than that. Installation and cable card setup went flawless.

Main problem is I have no HDMI now. No signal is detected by my Sony Bravia tv whatsoever at any time including during the boot up process of the 4XL.

Tried two HDMI cables that both work fine with my Sony blue ray player.

Any ideas?

I know that you checked, but just in case, are you sure you have the right HDMI input selected on the Sony?

If that's not it, check the composite and component outputs and see if they work.

Yep checked all 4 HDMI inputs on the tv too, none detect the TiVo. All detect the Sony blue ray player. Composite works fine, I don't have component to test though.

Did you try pressing the format button to make the TiVo change modes? Maybe your TiVo is on 480i and your TV won't work in that mode.

Sony HDMI

This is a dirty little secret that Tivo does not like to admit. The Tivo software sometimes does not recognize the HDMI handshake with the Sony Bravia TV. If pressed they will exchange the Tivo unit.
