XL4 and WD DVR expander use.

Will the 1TB WD expander work with the 2TB XL4?

After 15 mins, it's all set up. One interesting thing is that during set up, I was warned that all previous recordings would be lost. They play fine though.

The warning is to tell you that all your recordings are at risk if you *remove* the expander. The TiVo makes no attempt to segregate show metadata or recorded video onto only one disk or the other.

The warning specifically says that you will no longer be able to access existing recordings once you install the external drive.
