Big Brother - 8/22/2012

Boogie looked shocked when Jenn went up as the replacement nominee. Good!

I think Boogie is shocked, period! He did not expect to leave so soon after Janelle, but it looks like that will happen. I cannot imagine a scenario where Jenn gets voted out over Boogie.

I hate Boogie - good riddance!

Meanwhile, Frank really has it in for Dan - this could get interesting...

And Brittany - everyone left their family and job to be there - quit whining and play. You picked this guy as your partner - deal with it!

Boy did Shane look like a deer in headlights talking to Boogie and Frank?

These people should just own up to it. What harm could it do? Just say to Boogie and Frank that we see you two as the biggest threat in the game and we needed to make a big move while we still had the number on our side. Say, Boogie, you already won once, almost one another time and you're as big a threat as Dan. Say, we know you two will turn on us at some point. Say, we all want to win. Instead, they all dance around it. Do they fear retribution that badly? Instead of that, they should be working to get the floaters on their side.

If Boogie does go (and I still have my doubts), it will be interesting to see how Frank plays it without his Poobah. He's a big man now that Boogie has his back, but what will he do when he's playing alone with "POSSIBLY" the only allies are Joe, Jen and Ashley.

This season is better than I had hoped, even with the coaches in the game now.

Shane is a moron. He doesn't know how to play this game to save his life.

I hope Jen goes. She's terrible at competitions and forgettable at best. If boogie stays things will really get intersting. Frank is easily the best player as far as winning hoh/veto comps.if boogie does go, he'll still think he's got Ian as an ally but I wouldn't doubt the truth comes out about him pretty soon.

Also, has there been threads on the last couple of shows? Maybe I missed them. Seems it would be better to just have a current season thread rather than individual threads.

Nope, there weren't threads for the last several shows. Only the spoiler thread, which I try not to read until after seeing Wednesday's show.

I wonder how Ian plays this. On one hand, if he votes to keep Boogie and continues to play both sides that could hurt him with the quackers (but they still may have enough votes to vote Boogie out, this might be his best play). On the other hand, if he votes to evict Boogie, that might make him a bigger target with Frank than even Dan is if Frank figures out that Ian spied on Boogie and him.

I like Ian, he's playing a lot like Dan did the first time around, but will he be strong enough at the end to beat out the more experienced players, or Frank?

The only thing driving me nuts is that too many people are playing the "mastermind" game. They want to be in an alliance, and have the other guy do all the work. For that to work, they need more people willing to win comps. They have Shane, and Danielle I guess. It just seems HoH is going to flop between Shane and Frank until one of them goes home.

I cant wait to see the first HoH comp after one of those 2 leave. The other will be outgoing HoH and cant compete. It will be a house full of people all trying to throw the same comp.

In past seasons I've delved into the spoiler thread but I haven't peeked this time.

Also, tonight is double elimination. Are they doing that earlier this year than normal?

I figure if I don't look until after the Wednesday episode there isn't much they can tell me that I haven't seen yet. The Veto meeting is over and the eviction is live on Thursday, so all I'm going to get at that point is some gap fillers.

Boogies fake tears were hilarious, almost as funny as Brittany's non-reation to them.

Shane's "Why do I always have to have the blood on MY hands???" made me guffaw.

"Because you keep winning HOH, dumbass."

He deserves it for going for the $10k last week and not even trying for HOH or safety.

Why was staying or folding even an option when it was down to 2 of them?

Good question. Though, it did allow Ashley to throw it to Frank.

Folding for Frank would actually have made sense if he thought she was closer, since it would give him another chance. But folding for Ashley just made no sense at all.

It's funny that Dan actually positioned himself perfectly, but Frank is so obsessed with Dan that he just assumed that Dan did all the work to put him and Boogie on the block.

Ian's main problem here, compared to Dan in season ten, is that he doesn't have the trust of his alliance. They are very wary of him.

Can't remember, but is there a rule about not going over in your guess?
If he went over, she would win?

Nope, no Price Is Right rule. Closest one wins the point.

I said immediately that Brittany wasn't buying it for a minute.

I used to kind of like Mike Boogie, but without Dr. Will, he's really just an obnoxious bully. He really never realized that Dr. Will had BOOGIE do all his dirty work while Will charmed the others.

If Frank had blown it and Ashley won that particular competition, it might have been the single funniest moment in Big Brother history. As it was, watching her try to explain how she did the math had us rolling.

exactly...so if there are 2 players and 1 folds then the other person wins by default!

If she wanted to throw it all she had to do was keep folding every time until Frank stayed and won by default. She is so dumb though that she wouldn't even be able to grasp something that elementary.

No, Frank should not have folded because if she stayed he would lose. By staying he had 2 ways to win: 1. By being closest and 2. by her folding
Why do you say folding would make sense for Frank but not Ashley?

Because they both could have folded.

Wins the point, not necessarily the veto. Eliminating the fold option just because it was down to two would have been slightly unfair to Frank.

Folding would make sense for Frank because he had two points and she had one. She would have had to win two more points to get the veto by points. But if she would have won a point where he stayed, he would have been eliminated as being the farthest from the correct answer.

Two things I'd like to see.

Frank in the diary room with his hands strapped down at his sides.

Dan in the diary room with his head in a collar that makes him look straight at the camera.

Oh yeah, I forgot he had a point to give. If they had been tied folding would not have been a good option.

Anyone see Jeff's interview with Wil? He had some real bad things to say about Shane.

What about Joe? Something to keep him from shouting?

I'll be so glad when Boogie is gone. I've never liked him much.

Yeah, that too...but I can turn down the volume.

Actually, Dan yells a bit too.
