Can I sell this Tivo with Lifetime?

Order Shipped April 7, 2008 1 TiVo Product Lifetime Service gift subsc $399.00 $399.00
Order Shipped April 7, 2008 1 180-hr TiVo HD DVR $299.99 $299.99

Above is from my account.

I just ordered a Tivo Premiere with Life time and wondered if I can sell on my lifetime associated with the Tivo 3 (I also have a now unused Wireless adapter)?

How do I do that? Will a new owner automatically get lifetime when they turn on the box?

I searched but the answers all came from 2008 and earlier which may no longer be valid.

Thanks.

The lifetime is tied to the unit, so you shouldn't have any problems selling. You would need to make sure it gets transferred to the account of the recipient though.

Okay, great! Thanks for the prompt response.

So I tell Tivo who the new recipient is and where they live, etc?

I'll need to do some research on selling price; not expecting much given I have had it for 4 years and the HDMI port stopped working ages ago

Usually you can call Tivo and tell them you sold the unit and they give you a reference number to give to the new owner. The new owner then has to either set up a new account if they dont have one, or the Lifetimed unit is just moved over to their existing account. I sold 2 Lifetimed Tivos and this is how it was done in my situation.

Look on Ebay. What model Tivo is this you want to sell? Most Series 3 or HD models with Lifetime go for around the $300 range, but you say the HDMI port is not working, so really no clue what you might get for it. The lifetime subscription is what will make it sell.
