When's the next software update?
I remember hearing about a big update in the pipeline. Talk about more HD screens. Was the fall mentioned as the timeline?

Yes i believe it was Fall... Will probably coincide with the Stream and IP STB Release

Then that would suck. After the Blue Moon on August 31st, the next Blue Moon isn't until July 2015.
Hopefully an S5 box will be out in 2013.

I thought RCN or someone had said they were looking at September, but I don't remember any specific timeline other than fall mentioned.

Correct on RCN. They are looking at a mid-September release.

I think we should see a general release of The Stream with an associated software update to retail in October. It will be interesting to see if the couple the software update to the major software release or if we see a staggered release of the Stream with the current software followed by the major software release six weeks or more later. TiVo tends to be conservative on these sort of things so I wouldn't be surprised to see them release the Stream first before changing the Premiere software.

The RCN release is bringing them to what we already have. Version 20. They are wayyyy behind us

The Stream is a small Tivo accessory that will allow a Premiere to stream/download recordings and live TV to portable iDevices, and presumably Android devices down the road. It's expected in the early fall.

So they're referring to an associated software update to the Tivo itself that (among other things) enables Stream support.

I think we were the ones calling it fall since I believe they said they were aiming for four updates this year.
I would guess we might see early rollout by the end of October.

hopefully the HD filters are back in the guide. Still casnt believe they removed them
