From what I can see, TivoWeb channel icons have this format:
256 (8-bit) color
name-p1 is 65x55 pixels
name-p2 is 100x35 pixels
PNG palette index 0 has an RGB value of 255,0,255 and is the "invisible color"
I've made PNG files of the appropriate dimensions, color depth and name which fail to upload. Perhaps the value of palette index 0 is the reason.
Modifying an existing bitmap to proper dimensions and reducing to 256 color values is easy. Reducing the palette to 255 colors and shifting so index 0 is available to be 255,0,255 is not so easy with general bitmap editors.
Would someone with experience making icons recommend Windows or Java apps to shift or remap the palette to accomdate index 0?
TWP also has two locations for logos; DirecTV and TiVo. Would someone explain that?
Also, where are the logo PNGs stored on the TiVo? Seems it would be most helpful to make a batch upload and associate routine but need to know where the files and configuration are stored.
