True Blood S5E5 "Let's Boot And Rally" OAD 7/8/12

Seeing Jesus' head reminded me that his body disappeared from Lafayette's house.

Who is going to raise baby wolf now that both her parents are dead? Perhaps Alcide and Sookie.

I don't care at all about the Sanguinistas Vs. The Authority. I do, however, enjoy the Tara storyline.

I've got a feeling Sam is going to get an adopted daughter which can keep the drama going with her grandmother.

Loved Sookie's remark about her "microwave fingers".

Oh, and this one:

Jason: You know what's f'd up?
Andy: I've got quite a list.

Tara is a little more interesting but I could still do without the entire first/Iraq storyline.

Why would bill/Eric not bring authority backup? Dumb.

Especially since if they staked him, then how would they prove it to their potential executioners in order to save their lives?

They at least needed an Authority witness to see that they staked him.

Who wants to bet that the female Authority member who freed Russell wasn't Nora?

TIA on all points.

Tara & Pam are as funny as I expected them to be. Tara was working that outfit. Her BFF with Jessica was short-lived. Don't mess with Hoyt.

Yawning over the Iraq stuff. Maybe LaLa's witchery will save it. His mother calling on Jesus made me laugh.

Eric spending all of that time talking to Russell instead of staking him -- he acted like a beautiful dumb blond.

Luna isn't blond but she is also stupid by running outside like that instead of watching her kid. Maybe she picked up parenting tips from Lori in The Walking Dead.

As sick of Sookie as I've been of late, she made me laugh last night talking about her microwave fingers and protecting everyone.

Edited: I agreed with Arlene's comment to Andy -- cover it up. At least we are getting to see a little more of Alcide.

It must be Salome, since there is obviously a "twist" coming, and Salome has been suspiciously "everywhere" this season.

I've been assuming it was Salome. It looks a lot like her, IMO (more than Nora anyway). And Nora is too obvious.

I keep waiting for her to stake Roman when he's not looking. Or when he's looking at something else.

Most amazing thing about this episode was the great camera work with Andy waking up naked on the couch in Arlene's house. I wonder how many takes they needed to get her hand placement just right.

Agree that the Iraq story line is not good.

The moles on the chest of the girl in the Sookie-flashback match Salome's.

Weird... I didn't realize it until I saw this thread, but my TiVo didn't record TB last night. I wonder why.

EDIT: and by "last night" I mean Sunday. I checked and it is going to record the broadcast on the 11th.

The acting seems a little off this season. Or maybe it's the directing. It's like at the beginning of each scene, you can almost hear the director yell "Action," and the scene is screaming at me: "This is a scene in a TV show!" Maybe it's just me. The first scene of this episode, with Lafayette talking to himself, is a good example.

Are we supposed to care when Saolme turns on the Authority? Because I don't think I will.

Is the pro-mainstreaming Authority supposed to be the good guys? Because they don't act like it.

Is Sam dead?

I don't think so since they showed her eyes closing very slowly in that very obvious "I am dead" way.

I have no doubt that it's Salome. She wears the same necklace and - as mentioned before - the person had the same moles. I just hope the real "twist" isn't that obvious!

Well, they ALL wear the same necklace. That's how we know it's an Authority person.

I don't know that they all have those moles, however...

IIRC there was a pretty clear shot of Luna's wound in the gut, upper-center (just below the ribs it looked like). I wouldn't think that would be immediately fatal but they sure did make it look like she's dead. She could just be unconscious though.

Sam was shot in the side (at the end of that scene there's a view from above when he's lying on his back and you can see the blood on his right side). Could have hit a kidney which is bad, but most likely (this being True Blood) it's a through-and-through that didn't hit anything vital.

Or, maybe a vamp will show up and heal one or both.

Weren't the other two shifters shot in the head? If the writers wanted Luna to be dead, they could have done the same thing.

If they wanted you to immediately know she was dead, that's what they would have done. They didn't do that, but that doesn't mean she's not dead.

Yes, I agree that Salome let Russel E. out, or arranged for it to happen. During this episode when she pricked her finger to be let into that secret room I was betting that it was a secret meeting place for the Sanguinistas and I was disappointed when the head of the authority was there and it just turned out to be some sort of shrine.

And yes, the Iraq story line is TERRIBLE!!! I was waiting for something supernatural to happen which I'm sure will eventually join up with the main story line and it did happen. But its still a bad story line!!

Why was Doug taken to the hospital when Russell was taken there? That seems to have been written just so Sookie could have a way to figure out where Russell was.

I guess he was the hired help. Salome did not want to carry the body? But I would think they would then feed him to Russell. Strange that they let him go. Sloppy writing, as you say, they needed a way for Sookie to find Russell.

I thought it was a nice touch that they used a real arabic word. Ifrit is the name of a type of poltergeist (like Genie is derived from the word Gin). Gin and Ifrit are supposed beings that live in another dimension and can sometimes cross into our world (through mediums; which is who gypsies and the like pretend to talk to).

Ifrit are the more mischievous of the "gin" and kids (especially boys) are usually called Ifrit when they are causing havoc (as boys occasionally are known to do!).

They are NOT smoke monsters, though!

I liked how they had a subtitle on the screen when she gave the curse. I thought that was there to tell the audience how to spell this word that we would otherwise have no way of deciphering through the characters/actors southern accents. Uh Freet.

So, the Man in Black's name is Ifrit?
