Charlie Rose

I love this show!

I have slowly become addicted to it, and it is the single thing I think I would pick if I was forced to choose just 1 show I could watch.
He is intelligent, just subjective enough to be interesting, and each show is dedicated content so it is very thorough.
Charlie Rose has an insatiable appetite for politics *and* technology which are my two favorite topics, and I learn something every single time I watch him. Great -great show!!!!

Marissa Mayer on Wednesday, Eric Schmidt on Friday.
Wonder how long he will be on the west coast?
Love it!

I like Charlie, too. Lots of interesting guests and he covers interesting topics with some depth. The interviews are not full of spin and attitude like the Sunday morning talk shows.

Not sure if I'm interested or not, but for the uninitiated, what day, time, network are we talking about?

For the uninitiated, he airs on PBS at various times, but generally he's on at 11PM Eastern on your local PBS station.

I agree, he's a great host and he always gives a good, in-depth interview. Much better than the 5 minutes of fluff that most late night people have.

It airs at 11pm here in Vegas. I like to watch it, I think it is the soft tone of the interview along with the black backdrop that helps me fall asleep. It is more relaxing than watching the gorey details of a 7-11 shootout on the local news.

As much as I love the show, I agree with this!
The show and host have a mellow feel.
I always fall asleep, but if it is a good interview, I finish either in the middle of the night (insomnia) or the next morning.

If you watch regularly, when Charlie really is excited about something (usually tech-stuff!), he is not obviously excited, but you can definitely tell.

I think Charlie's best quality is his ability to ask a good follow-up question.

Not all interview show hosts have that. (e.g., Terry Gross on NPR's Fresh Air)

You know, I'm the same way. I'd clicked by him for years, but I actually started watching little segments on YouTube and that led to me starting to look for his show more often. I just enjoy the tone of the conversations he has with his guests.

If he had a podcast, I'd definitely try listening to it at night before bed. He's a distant second to the sleep-inducing power of Tom Snyder, though.

Wow.. tough crowd. There's probably a new ep almost every weekday yet no discussion here. I started a thread long ago when he had Rick Wagoner (former CEO of GM) on and got no response.

Let's talk about interesting/favorite eps you've watched. I'm right now watching a recent ep w/Marc Andreessen on (venture capitalist, founder of now defunct Netscape). He's a funny guy and talks very fast.

Charlie is outstanding with political stuff, but when he tries to do interviews with people in the arts, he is completely lost.

The big downside for me is that there is no information about his guests in the Guide Data.
