Not exactly on-topic, but I wanted to note that I appreciate how you formatted this spoiler. The usual way people seem to do it here is to post the casting spoiler directly in the thread title. Of course, I always would click through to read them anyway for most shows, but still... thanks

Not sure I love this. She wasn't very well developed as a character and I find the relationship with Rumple a little creepy. He is 20 years older than she is.
But, I did have to lol at the 'shippers name for them: Rumbelle.

I didn't mind the age difference. And I always LOL at that shipper name too but I usually do at most shipper names because I never understood why people have to do that.

Glad to hear it. Obviously Rumple/Gold is the key figure in what's going on in Storybrooke, and now he's been reunited with Belle, so it makes sense that she'd become a series regular. I just hope they can develop her character and that relationship a little better.

Why are names like that called "shipper names"?

Shipper is short for Relationshipper. Somebody who advocates for a specific relationship to happen. The name for fans of a specific relationship is a combination of the two characters' names.

Yes, and I'd really like to know who started this entire "shipper" thing (both the nickname for the fans and celebrity couples) so that I can thank them with a smack.

It apparently started back in the X-Files days, when people who wanted Scully and Mulder to get together called themselves (or were called by others?) "shippers."

Agree with Rob. X-Files is the first time I remember hearing the term.

Wow I thought it was much newer than that. I don't remember hearing it about X-Files but I can't remember when I started hearing the term.

Now that I have never heard in my life! I think the first I remember it was "Brennifer". I really can't recall anything older than them that I have heard. Oh well, we are taking a sharp right off topic of this thread!
Bottom line is, Belle is FT. So now can we get the same for Sebastian Stan please?

I remember the shipper names becoming really popular/obnoxious when Brad Pitt dumped Jennifer Anniston for Angelina Jolie, and they became "Branjelina." After that it seemed like every couple had to have a shipper name. I'd never heard "Brennifer" before now.

I'm pretty sure Bennifer was the first.
Ben (Afflek) + Jennifer (Lopez)
It even has its own wikipedia page!

Returning to an earlier comment - I didn't find the Rumple/Belle relationship creepy at all. I thought it did justice to the original fairy tales and was rather charming. Perhaps it's just me, but I actually don't think that Rumple is creepy. GOLD is creepy and gives me the shivers, but not Rumple. As my hubby put it: Rumple was always the underdog, shoved around by those in power, and when he got power himself, it was time for some payback. Being gamers, we cataloged him as lawful evil. Once he made a deal, he stuck to it, though he wasn't beneath a little loophole exploitation!
The relationship with Belle being creepy because of the age difference? Not too sure about that one. How many guys in their 50's dump their wives for younger women? Heck, how many older women are cougars?
