The only one I am interested in so far is The Smart One with Portia de Rossi and Jean Smart.

I was looking forward to Beauty and the Beast until they cast Kristin Kreuk as the lead. I'll pass.

Why?
I thought that she was awful in Watchmen.

Didn't see that. She was good in The Comeback and is great in Childrens Hospital, though.

Yes. The CW's version is a re-envisioning of CBS's Ron Perlman/Linda Hamilton romance/procedural from the 80s. ABC's is based on the original fairy tale.

Had to google for her.... I think the answer to the "why?" is because of the potential eye-candy factor:

Well none of those show names draw me in. I guess I'll need to see the descriptions.

Didn't see that but she's been pretty awesome in everything I've seen her in:
Heartbreak Kid!
27 Dresses (yes, sadly she was the highlight of this movie)
Couples Retreat
Entourage
Children's Hospital

I've never seen The Comeback... is it any good?

Okay reviewing the rest and will come back with thoughts in a bit.

ABC
666 Park Avenue - They had me at Terry O'Quinn
The Last Resort - sounds kinda cool but it has Daisy Betts and that might be a deal breaker for me after her terrible terrible performance in Persons Unknown
The Smart One - Portia and Malin. Yes.

CBS
Elementary - I like Miller and has some producers from Justified so I'll check it out

CW

Arrow - Could be okay but to date TVD is the only CW show I've ever liked

FOX
The Asset - Maybe, will have to see some previews first for sure.
Guilty - I like the premise, hope the lead is someone interesting
Untitled Kevin Williamson Project - KW + James Purefoy + Kevin Bacon. I don't even need to see a preview to know I'm gonna love it.
El Jefe - Doesn't sound terrific but I'll give it a shot just for Ryan Hansen.
Little Brother - I like Stamos ad Miller so I'll definitely check it out.
Living Loaded - Will need to see previews but sounds like it could be fun
Must Hire - Depending on who stars this could be fun

NBC
Bad Girls - Maybe. Will have to see who stars
1600 Penn - I like Josh Gad so I'll check it out
Daddy's Girls - Sounds like it has potential
Save Me - I like Heche and Michael Landes so I'll check it out but I'm not expecting to love it based on the premise

Zero Hour sounds interesting, but conspiracy shows are serials, and serials usually bomb quickly.

Revolution is absurd. If all forms of energy stopped working, humans couldn't stay alive nor could they see or hear anything if they were alive.

Haven't looked at them all but I am looking forward to the Kari lizer Project on abc which I believe has signed on the attractive and funny Andrea anders who was in better off Ted and Mr. Sunshine.

All those other roles appear to be comedic roles.
It's possible that she can do comedy fine but Watchmen was a dramatic role and she just sucked in it.

It's also possible that Zack Snyder just doesn't know how to direct her but when you consider that everyone else in the main cast of Watchmen were fine (in fact, I'd rate the performances of Jackie Earle Haley and Jeffery Dean Morgan as "Great"), I'm finding that more difficult to believe.

Both times after watching Watchmen, my reaction was that Ackerman was in the movie solely because how she looked in (and out of) costume.

That's very possible. I didn't see Watchmen so I can't comment on her serious acting.

Then again, Morgan and Haley don't need Snyder to be great.

I strongly suspect that in a Zack Snyder film, what you see in a performance is exactly what the actor brought to it, and not one tiny bit more. And some actors can be quite good...but they need a good director to bring it out.

I wasn't a fan of Haley before Watchmen so I was very pleasantly surprised by him in it.

And while I agree a good to great director can coax a better performance from an actor, conversely a bad director can kill a great actor's performance (see George Lucas and Samuel L. Jackson).

Although I'm not sure that was Lucas killing Jackson's performance (does Lucas have that kind of power? ) so much as Jackson just not giving a crap. The history of Hollywood is filled with great actors who phoned in performances for whatever reason (mostly money, sometimes a childhood desire to swing a light-saber).

Given the fact that there is a new daytime talk show called THE Revolution makes me think this one won't be around long. Why wouldn't they give it a different title?

By 'energy' I think they are talking about things that power the world like gas, electric, etc. You can't really judge a show based on poorly worded press releases. Beautiful People, for example, is described as taking place 10 minutes into the future.

It's always so difficult judging shows based on preseason descriptions. I was pumped for Playboy Club, but never would have considered Once Upon a Time a possibility.

I was hoping Seth McFarlane would have another show or 2 for Fox.
They could make room by dumping Cleveland and killing Allen Gregory and Bob's Burgers (although if they got rid of the kids I would probably like this show).

I believe he is working on a Flintstones remake. I don't know how I feel about it. I don't know if I want his kind of humor tarnishing the Flintstone family.

I've seen Watchmen several times. I even own the blu-ray.

Until this thread, I thought that was Olivia Wilde

Elementary looks fun, kinda Bones in reverse.

Elementary - Exclusive Preview

I don't think i've seen anyone talk about The Following with Kevin Bacon and UK's James Purefoy ("Rome") star in this terrifying new thriller from Kevin Williamson ("The Vampire Diaries" and "Scream").

THE FOLLOWING - Trailer
You need to upgrade your Flash Player

I'm also looking forward to The Last Resort- http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v...4KGU&vq=medium
