In Plain Sight Season 5 2012

Final season is under way. I'm loving Mary as a Mom. Glad her Mom and Sis are gone. Hope they stay gone. The ex-hubby, the Dad, has been a good addition to the show.

I'm enjoying this as always.

They kind of are making it clear where they are going with it but - we'll see.

I'll miss this show. Glad the sister and Mom are gone.

I agree that the Dad was a good addition. The black Marshall and mellowed out Stan are also good. Too bad is the last season.

Wife is holding out hope that Mary and Marshall will get together by series finale.

I must have been in just the right mood but the biggest laugh I have had all year was from Marshall:

I'm sorry but interjecting the baby into the show is totally ruining it for me! Makes me wish last season was its last! I can understand having to write the pregnancy into last season, but the character would've either aborted the baby or put it up for adoption. Mary is not a touchy feely person! The baby is ruining her character and I don't need her to be "softer". Inserting the baby into every storyline is turning a fine show into a soap opera IMHO.

I think the session with the shrink where it was pointed out that Mary needs to take care of people (her mom, sis, witnesses) did a good job explaining why she kept the baby. I don't see the baby turning her into a softer, gentler, Mary at all. She's never been uncaring. She's just always been very sarcastic while caring. I haven't noticed that going away.

I have to agree with Speedcouch, to me the baby has ruined the show. I think the same thing is going to happen with the TVshow Bones. I enjoy the work part of Mary's life and never did care about what was going on back home with her family.

from a narrative point of view they needed to do that the first few episodes

i'm hoping that the discussion about daycare will remove the baby from dominating the storyline

i certainly can deal more with the ex and the baby than i could with the sister and mom

I am SO close to canceling the SP for this show, but, since this is the final season, I may stick with it. Certainly not high on my viewing list...

I don't get the baby hate. I agree that it was a dumb plotline to move to since it doesn't really add much to the story. OTOH it's only taking up the small amount of time that had previously been devoted to dumb Brandi/Jynx storylines.

I just ignore/tolerate the baby stuff like I used to ignore the Brandi/Jynx stuff. What's left is still pretty good.

I agree with this, and it's easier to ignore the baby because it doesn't talk!

The Merry Wives of WITSEC 4/6/2012

I thought this was a good ep. Lots of funny banter between Mary and Marshall. I was expecting Mary to get a pic of Stan and Tia (can't remember her name on the show).

And now Marshall is engaged. I can't see his 'work wife' being overjoyed when she finds out.

I'm still enjoying the show a lot. I'm sad it's the final season.

So let me get this straight -- Principal Stuber is also Mary's ex-husband's mother?

I did cancel the SP because everything baby related is just so ridiculously wrong that I want to hit the writers in the face, but then I remembered that it was the final season so I'm back in.

At the end of the Merry Wives' episode, what did Mary hand to the waitress?

The plastic dinosaur that the baby took while at the park playing with the waitresses child.

While I agree that the story-lines involving Brandi & Jinx were bad, there are at least a couple of reasons I'm going to miss having Brandi around...

4/13/2012 Drag Me to Hell

This ep was entertaining. Marshall in drag was pretty good. I've always like Rafe so nice to see him again. Too bad he's married now. But the last few minutes were the best.

Mary gets laid. Good for her!

Daddy shows up. I'm so glad they are finally going there!

I concur.

"Whose idea was this? RuPaul's?"

A few posts earlier I said I can see where they are going but I didn't see where they were going!

Was Mary's bed partner played by Josh Charles from Cougar Town?

This Friday's (April 20) episode should be a good one.

Would have been funny after his "performance" if Marshall had ended his engagement and announced he was "going gay".

The Medal of Mary 4/20/2012

Marshall's Dad is asking if he's sure about his engagement? Huh, are they really going there? Maybe since the show is ending they want a happily ever after with Marshall and Mary? I love the characters, but I just don't see that working.

I loved that Mary put a tracking device in the necklace and gave it to Dad. She's a smart one!

Wonder if the brother is really dead or if he's in on it with the bad guys?

We had the same reaction. I really hope they're not going where it looks like they're going.

I think the last episode makes it clear. I think end of the series will be everyone getting transferred to a new office. Either together or separate, possibly some spin of Marshall staying with his woman and getting married but I would see Mary moving to a new office maybe a promotion to be head of one of the branches on her own or something like that.
