I missed the first two episodes but have the last four on my TiVo. Just waiting for the first two to re-air so I can start watching it.

I saw Fred on Conan and thought I'd record an episode to check it out...

I watched that episode, there were a few funny moments. It has potential.

I do think I figured out why SNL has skits that last waaay too long. The dig everything out of the trash couple.......that's just not enough for a 7 minutes skit.

I am enjoying it, although I feel like Carrie Brownstein should be playing the guitar in every sketch.

I thought the first episode was good (I went to IFC on demand to download the next one and they only have eps 1, 3 and 4 posted - why do they do that)!? Anyway, I thought it was an interesting coincidence that they were talking about art in Portland and how putting a bird on something makes it artsy. Wasn't there an entire sketch (or could have been weekend update) about putting a bird on it to make it artsy on SNL?

I watched the first episode and thought it was pretty weird (the one with the bookstore and the people counting one vegan burger etc. I had to watch a talking head shouting at each other news show to come down to something resembling reality.

Living in Portland, I find certain bits to be really really funny, but some of the bits do fall flat.

Watched the first few, thought it was ok. Being from the region, Seattle*, I understand most of it. Could see a few of the skits on the old Almost Live show.

*I understand the Portland hatred to this statement. Portland is nothing like Seattle.

I'll bite. What's a "trash couple"? Never heard of that before.

It's all in the punctuation: The dig-everything-out-of-the-trash couple.

The trash couple was really funny because I had just watched the new Bizarre Foods w/ Andrew Zimmerman in San Francisco right before. He follows around two girls who pull food out of the trash to make food for the homeless. People really do this.

That skit definitely went on way too long. After I think Minute 3 I just FF'd through it because it wasn't funny anymore. I dig this show though... I liked the Amy Mann skit and the "pretentious couple hounding the waitress about every aspect of the Chicken that they're about to eat".

I enjoyed the one where the mayor was missing and Fred and Carrie had the (actually quite good) idea to track him with his cell phone's GPS...but the guy at the cell phone place couldn't track him unless he was on Fred and Carrie's "Family Plan" - so they went through the seemingly interminable process most of us have been through-choosing a plan - and of course, they tried to choose the first plan offered, but the guy had to go through every plan, couldn't deviate from his shpiel, on and on, then they finally chose a plan, then they had to choose a phone, then a color for the phone, then they got free sunglasses with the phone, on and on....

Then they finally did track the mayor down and he was playing bass in a reggae band? I love Kyle MacLachlan, love that he's going back to his Northwestern Twin Peaks-esque roots

I loved the newspaper headlines from the missing mayor episode.

I've only watched the first three episodes, but I've enjoyed it so far. I think most of my enjoyment, though, is coming from living in Portland and recognizing so many locations they filmed in.

I think the funniest part for me was in the second episode when they met the mayor, and his assistant walks in. His assistant was played by Sam Adams, the real mayor of Portland.

I just stumbled across this show. Season 2 recently started.
The show is cracking me up. So many random stories. Set the season pass for it.

I started watching this about a month ago on Netflix, took me awhile to just watch those 6 episodes, I finally finished them and started watching the ones from this season on my Tivo.

Overall, I think it's a mildly funny show, a lot of, hehe humor with the occasional LOL.

Then I watched S02E02 One Moore Episode. Holy. Crap. That was funny. And I lucked out:

Spoiler:
They mention looking up Ronald Moore, and that just piqued my interest so I looked him up on wikipedia and IMDB, just saw what he had been up too, and a picture of him. Had I not done that, I would have lost a whole dimension of humor/laughs at the end of this episode

I record it. I will usually find about 2 of the sketches funny, and the remaining ones are too out there for me...

I love this show. I think the hit ratio has gone up this season. I've had the song, "She's making Jewelry Now" in my head for days. Also cool that Carrie was in Sleater Kinney.

I'm still chuckling over the last episode, because this segment is soooo much like me:

Since this thread, I gave the show a second chance. I really wanted to see the Battlestar Galactica episode I hear so much about. So, I watched all of season one and the first two episodes of season two.

I don't hate the show, but I really don't love it either. Maybe I was expecting too much from the Battlestar episode, but I don't laugh during it either.

I think the statement I made in this thread 2 years ago holds true. This show just isn't for me.
