There aren't any former stars I can think of.
Of the current actors I watch, if Timothy Olyphant or Sebastian Stan were on a new show, I would probably check it out. Sebastian will be on a cable show later this year that I'll make a point of trying just because he's in it.
But, if they were in a show that looked awful, I wouldn't watch just to see them.

She is doing something on Broadway right now. I can't remember what.

What? No mention of George Clooney, Tom Hanks, John Travolta, Robin Williams, or Will Smith yet? To unlikely to ever return to TV maybe or nobody old enough to remember? (or both?)
Pretty much any of the early SNL regulars? Or were they not considered TV stars then?
Seriously, NOBODY has watched Last Man Standing just because Tim Allen is on it?

I would still check it out just in case...
Current stars for me would include Sebastian and Daniel Gillies (obv) and Matt Davis. The show with Stan is called Political Animals and it's a 6 episode miniseries. I do plan to watch no matter how bad it is. Gillies is called Saving Hope and Matt's new show is called Cult.

I didn't know who either of those two were so I looked them up and found a Vampire Diaries theme happening!

It's actually a good show. I am not a fan of Tim Allen's per se, but my wife wanted to watch it. Now we both really like it.

I could think of a bunch, but the first one that came to mine is Neil Patrick Harris. He's totally won me over. I'll watch him in anything.

Oh and I guess I can add Terry O'Quinn to mine. I'll be watching 666 Park Avenue just for him.

I don't think any of those you mentioned would be interesting to me. Of the former SNL regulars, I was always a huge fan of Dana Carvey and Dennis Miller. If they did something on TV, I'd have to check it out, but the reality is that neither of them were ever big enough stars for a network to build a show around them today and think that their name was going to draw fans. So it's unlikely we'll see them on a TV show anytime soon.

Nancy McKeon, been a huge fan since I watched Facts of Life as a little girl, she's so underrated it's crazy. She's an awesome actress.

Oh, Ian McShane is a good one. I'd definitely check out anything he's in.

Do you think Matthew Perry is a bigger name? Yet they advertise it as a Matthew Perry show, and they have 3 times already.

I began watching Raising Hope because of Martha Plimpton.
I have watched all the Matthew Perry projects on broadcast TV since Friends (at least Studio 60, and the one where he managed a stadium).

I didn't watch the Exes because of any actor but when I saw that Wayne Knight was in it, I stuck with it. I had never watched Seinfeld and didn't remember him in the other stuff he is listed as being in but he was very funny on Hot in Cleveland.

Been a Matthew Perry fan since 1990 when he played P.I. Valerie Bertinelli's brother in Sydney. He and Lisa Kudrow were the two reasons I first watched Friends.

Vegas is on my radar because of Michael Chiklis. I didn't stay with No Ordinary Family, but I only gave it a chance because of him.
Sarah Chalke and Judy Greer are up there, even still after Mad Love.
I would say Rashida Jones, but there's no need because Parks & Rec is going to be on until three years after I die. (And then NBC will kill it off.)

Yes.. I misread the thread title, I was saying I would watch whatever she was on. But I don't get showtime, so I don't get her current show.

Those are all men. Male movie stars don't need to return to TV. Female movie stars do......see Angelic Huston.
Not saying I agree with this......but that's how it is.

Wasn't Christian Slater a movie star who returned to TV? There's probably a lot more, but that's one name that comes to mind.

Interesting thought....may be why I'm having such a hard time coming up with any females too. Most all of the ones I can think of that I'm really loyal to are in current series.

Yes. Good example. His looks are fading and was never a "great" actor. He was more of a teen heart throb. Once the looks go the movie roles dry up......

I had to watch the Division and Flashpoint because the pink Power Ranger was on them.
That's not sad or anything, is it?
I thought "LA Complex" looked kind of stupid and boring, but I still feel like I have to give it a shot because of Jewel Staite. Speaking of Whedon girls, Summer Glau, Amy Acker, Alyson Hannigan... all on the list too. And yeah, I watched Ringer.
