Strange Problem with Stuttering

Hi,
I have a TivoHD with time warner cable card. I record several programs a week. Since about 3 weeks ago, both the weekly american idol recordings have a lot of stuttering during playback. All the other programs record fine. Even the shows on other channels which are recorded during the same time as american idol are fine. So, the problem is specific to american idol recordings.
Can anyone please let me know a solution to this problem? Is it a porblem with the drive?
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide. Much appreciated.

Is that stuttering not present when you watch live?

It could be like that before it gets to the TiVo.

I did check that this week and the live show doesnt have any stuttering. So, somehow it seems to be limited to the show after it is recorded. Its driving me nuts!

A problem with a specific show before it gets to the TiVo makes sense.

A problem with anything and everything the TiVo recorded makes sense.

A problem with some of what the TiVo recorded makes sense.

A problem with only the recordings of one particular show does not make sense.

Did you watch the live show and then watch the recording of that episode and have problems in the recording that were not there when you watched it live?

And when you watched it live, were you watching it "live" off of the TiVo, or did you actually use the television's tuner in order to bypass the TiVo?

I will try again this week and watch it live using the tivo tuner as well as the cable box tuner and post back. Thanks.
