Touch - "Safety in Numbers" - 3/29/2012 - S01E03

I really liked this one. There were actually two separate stories: the 3287/lawsuit one and the dance battle story. The old Fantasy Island setup. Both were pretty satisfying, and Sutherland didn't have to overact too much.

And the Pink Girls were back! Plus that traveling phone.

So Arthur is a real doctor... how did the director of Jake's place know him?

And who lives in Room 6???? I bet it's who Arthur is looking for, unless he was looking for Jake.

Here's where the story started getting interesting to me. Hopefully they keep the guy who can talk and has the same ability as Jake. It gives the audience some way of being able to understand what he's going through while still having Jake not speak.

I'm not so sure what Jake yelling was all about though. Was there a reason that I missed? Was he trying to help the "thread" by doing that or was he just annoyed?

The social worker's mother would do that, yelling at the trains as they went by.

Maybe the pain thing, but he didn't look in pain, just yelling at the top of his lungs. It seemed to be the related crescendo of pot-banging vs dance battle vs yelling.

I doubt they keep Arthur... even though he talked, he didn't make any sense.

I think the most amazing thing about this show is that I noticed it came in at about the 10th most watched show of the week. What the heck?

Dad is always doing the Bauer huffing and puffing and that's getting on my nerves. The story lines must be going somewhere but I have no idea where. Are we supposed to think that the kid somehow arranges to have these numerical coincidences occur or that they are just a fluke that he has somehow figured out through his super powers? Either way stretches my ability to nod and say OK.

I guess I'm still watching but perhaps not for long.

I'm really not feeling this show. I guess I zoned out so much during it that I didn't understand the point of the entire dance battle storyline?

The directors really need to get the actors under control. The show is going to collapse under all this campiness.

The huffing & puffing (great description!) is also bugging me. Jack Dad is out of breath as soon as we wakes up on the couch. Ugh. See a doctor about that already.

And what about screaming "JAKE!" when Bauer Dad is in a panic looking for his boy (yet again). Last week he got a call from the social worker that he was missing, and when Martin (got it that time) saw him across the street and boarding a bus, Martin started yelling "JAKE!" from inside a building across the street. Today he is in the (empty) institution going to check on his supposedly sleeping child, only to start yelling "JAKE!!" as soon as he finds him missing from his room. If the building wasn't already completely empty (except for one extra who was directed to walk by in the background, he would have awaken and upset all of the patients in the building. WTF?!! (It reminds me of "WAAAAALLLTT!!!" from LOST.)

And then running 22 blocks to deliver the Memoranda to the reporter without then either huffing or puffing or even breaking a sweat?!! Come on!

Eh, but I will still watch. I just needed to vent. There are only two more episodes anyway.

I'm thinking it's pretty obvious whose in room 6, the Social Worker's mother.

I'm enjoying the show. Especially with the Invisible Knight.

There are seven more scheduled, and three beyond that yet to be scheduled, according to thefutoncritic.

Hmmmm... she wouldn't check that room before running to the hospital? Or have a perplexed look on her face when finding Jake there? Ah... you think the social worker doesn't know that's where she is. Perhaps...

She has basically said she has no idea where her mother is. She said that to the nurse at the hospital when she got a call from her mother's phone. I'm sure there will be an excuse as to why no one seems to know who is in room 6. They have established that even other people who work there think that room is empty. But it isn't.
