Storage Wars: Texas

wow....I'm not really liking this show/cast.

It seems like these people are just carachatures of the original show....you got your ecentric "barry" guy, man and woman with a store "brandi and jarod", and the guy everybody hates "dave hester" guy.

I have not watched it yet but I had my doubts they could pull this concept off twice.

I have it recorded though and will probably watch it later tonight.

I doubt I'll even record this one. One Storage Wars is enough.

Same here. As long as it's not as bad as Storage Hunters I will be OK with it.

It's just like its name Storage Wars-Texas. If all the CSI and NCIS iterations can make it to air I guess this can last for a while too. Will record but only watch as filler.

I didn't really get anyone in Dave's place. Certainly Moe is Barry. The rest don't really fit the mold of anyone from the original.

It did seem a bit off, but I think that was due to it just being different.

This was just awful ... the 'characters' are even less likable than the originals - especially the likely-fake 'Barry' guy ...

Of course,he did better on his one purchase than I think Barry has done in a whole season.

I ran across one the other day & wonder if this is what it was. The auctioneer was saying that some of the customers looked like famous people. One guy kept yelling "Holla at cho boy" or "Money" when he wanted to bid. I only lasted a few minutes before I found something else to watch.

That is Storage Hunters on TruTv. It has a really fake/staged feel like most of that stations repo/tow shows. There is a 'fight' in almost every episode.

With that said... I like that cast better than this SW:Texas cast.

I thought it was a perfect fit:
Dave hester = the NY guy
Brandi and Jarrod = the lady and the big black guy with the new store
Barry = Moe
Father & son = those 2 huge hillbilly guys

Not a lot of venom to him. Just Guido overdose.

'cept Jarrod is Brandi's equal in every way. The lady is the boss and the black guy is just there for muscle. No spine to him, no say in the action.

Certainly. Both are true characters.

Pretty close. Haven't seen enough personality to determine.

Yeah I don't see keeping this one. I just found the people annoying except Moe made me laugh.

My first impression also wasn't good. Moe was amusing but trying a bit too hard. The NY guy was like some caricature out of a campy movie. The others didn't leave a positive impression, either.

They tried and failed to have the same characters as the original. Dumb idea. Won't watch again.

This was AWFUL. This show may just prove that you can't just re-brand an existing show with new characters and have it work.

Watched another episode last night.

I hate the show but I love those 2 guys, Bubba and the other big guy.

They keep me watching.

I wish it wasn't focused around Texas. I'm getting tired of the southern stereotypes and the NY/Texas fighting.

But I am looking forward to their other shows:

Storage Wars: Chicago "Yo! Dats a pizza oven"
Storage Wars: Hawaii "Duuuude... A surfboard!"
Storage Wars: Kansas "I pray this locker is filled with Bibles"
Storage Wars: New Orleans "Wazoo! Anotha' 42 boxes o' beads"

Yeah, adding Roy has made the show go from Bad to Worse. Bubba and Ricky are the only saving grace of the show.

Perhaps cancel this show, and give them their own spin-off, like they gave Barry.

I agree about Bubba and Ricky.

What is strange is that they are even covering other people's auctions now. In a recent episode they show the Barry knock-off going through a locker from a totally different auction.

Link? I haven't heard anything about a spinoff for Barry.

That did seem odd. But Moe seems to do his own thing.

The other guy, he's a real piece of work. I love how he claims he is all about high-end stuff, and is a NYer in Texas, and yada yada yada. Then you see his shop. Looks like a dump in some old house. He is no mogul, that's for sure.
