Glee "Big Brother" 4/10/2012, S03E15

I've been watching this show since S01E01, and I think in my mind it has now jumped the shark. I don't care about Sue's celebrity baby, I don't care about Quinn surviving and landing in a wheelchair, I don't care about Puck's pool cleaning, and I sure as hell don't care about Finnchel and NYATA and their rollercoaster romance. The dragged-out story lines have finally beat me down.

The Blaine's brother story line was great, but it's a one week deal.

The music was great. Bomer isn't the best singer but he held his own next to Criss. I could have done without "I'm Still Standing" (ugh, really? wheelchair kids singing that?), but "Somebody That I Used To Know" was awesome.

Am I out in left field? Or am I finally where a lot of other people have been hanging out?

I'm not sure a show like this can ever "jump the shark," (man, do I hate that phrase with a firey burning passion) when it's been one form of ridiculous or another since day one. You either go with it, or you don't. It sounds to me less like it "jumped the shark" and more like the appeal of the show has just worn off for you.

It has definitely worn off for me.

Even tonight I found myself wondering if we really needed 3 songs with Blaine (one solo and two duets) and two Artie and Quinn duets?

I gave up on watching the plot somewhere in the middle of last season. I just FFWD to the musical numbers now.

I let that slide because it was a Blaine and Quinn episode.

I didn't recognize the skatepark/rollercoaster song.

I'm glad Q is alive. I would have been pissed off if she died. Don't really care one way or another that she is in a chair. Though I do wonder if she will walk again.

You lasted that long!
I bailed on the plot during the first season break.

I first read that as "first commercial break".

If Dianna comes back next season, I think Quinn will walk again; otherwise it takes away from the wheelchair being associated with Artie.

I struggled to finish this episode. None of the story lines resonated with me at all.

Although I gave to admit, the handicapped skate park montage was pretty cool.

It just occurred to me, exactly what Six Flags park is in Ohio?
Shouldn't they have gone to Ceder Point?

I thought I remembered there being a Six Flags over Ohio park at one point.

What I couldn't stand was the fact that Quinn said that her doctor said there was a good chance for her to walk again and yet Artie went out of his way to basically ruin her hope. I'm sure this plotline went over great with the folks that complained about artie not actually being handicapped to begin with.

I took that a very different way. I think Quinn was lying to the group about what her prognosis is. Artie is seeing through her "lies" and trying to help her accept the truth. (I quoted lies, because I think Quinn is in denial about what has happened and won't accept the truth.)

I admit that I was only skimming the non-music portions of the show, but from what little I saw, I got the impression that Artie was a little jealous/upset/whatever that Quinn might get better while he almost definitely won't.

Something along the same lines of how there's a segment within the deaf community who oppose cochlear implants and other cures because (and this is an admittedly over-simplified summary, just for comparison purposes) they view giving deaf people the ability to hear as some kind of destruction of their community.

Six Flags - Geauga Lake in beautiful Aurora, Ohio, 2000-2004. Still, Cedar Point is much closer to Lima.

Isn't Senior Skip Day traditionally very near the end of the school year? (One source says 112th day of school, whatever that would make it. Another says mid-May.)

At the school I worked at it was the 2 weeks before graduation ceremonies.

This, he wants somebody "like" him, who can do things with him on his level.

Also, not saying they don't, but paralyzed people doing ramps and such like they had is not exactly safe for them, if they fall and injure themselves they cannot tell IF they are injured like we can.
