Elite on its way

I know this is a pointless thread... but my Elite is on the way and I am very excited.

All in for 800 bucks + tax. Will be connecting to FIOS.

Bye bye S3! (But how I have loved thee)...

The OP already got the $100 discount. $500-$100 discount + $400 for lifetime with multi-unit discount = $800 total.

Pointless yes, but who cares because we share your excitement!

I did this about 3 months ago, and LOVE it. Nothing beats 4 tuners.

I actually still have the S3 hooked up, but just use it as a backup recorder.

You will enjoy!

I love my Elite. I would be 100% in love with it if I could get NBA League Pass to work with TWC (so I wouldn't need a Roku or AppleTV).

I have a HTPC sitting next to my TIVO. I love the HTPC for playing media files... but there really isnt anything quite like the TIVO television experience.

Is that S3 already lifetimed? If not you should have the leverage to get the $99 deal.

Its not lifetimed... and I think that I am actually just going to discontinue the service. The box is starting to have regular reboot issues...

I do have 1 more TV that I want a TIVO on but I will either buy a regular premiere or grab one of the proposed streaming boxes in the future.

Unless you guys can think of a good reason to get life time on the S3. I actually have a TIVO HD that finishes it contract in a couple of months too.

That's also the high leverage time to get the $99 deal.

Hmmm, I suppose I could get lifetime for both and then try to offload the old S3. The $8/month ($4x2) cable card rental fees irk me. At least the THD only needs 1 cable card.

I would definately try to get the $99 lifetimes on the old ones. Even if they are broke you can still sell them on Ebay for a great price to make some of your money back. A lot of people can slap a new drive or whatever it needs in there to make it work again for cheap.

Congrats! I'm also in California and mine shipped Monday and arrived on Friday. It took longer than the TiVo CSR expected since said he thought it would get here by Weds when I ordered it last weekend. Hope you have better luck. I know the anticipation was killing me during the work week.
