Can't select Network Drive anymore as My Tivo Recordings folder.
OK...I built a new computer and finally upgraded from 64-bit Vista to 64-bit Windows 7 Professional.
Previously, on the old computer, I had been able to select a folder on a Network Drive (D-Link NAS) as the My Tivo Recordings folder. It had worked on the most recent Tivo Desktop 2.8.3 as well as older versions. I basically had edited the registry under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TiVo\Desktop\Modules\TivoNowPlay ing\Config\LocalRootPath" to include the desired path, in my case "Y:\My Tivo Recordings" and this had worked very well. Every so often, my network connection would be interrupted (cable disconnected) and Tivo Desktop would default to the typical My Tivo Recordings location. The registry key in this situation would not be available and I would need to reinstall Tivo Desktop to allow me to edit my preferences again.
So with the new computer, I've tried the same process, but it won't take the new settings. I'm thinking that it might be a matter of sharing properties and privileges of the "Y:\My Tivo Recordings" folder. What would Tivo Desktop require?
Any other ideas?
Right now the new computer only has a boot SSD and a 1.5 TB drive for data, but I was hoping to use my Network Drive for the recordings.
