YouTube and NBC Will Live-Stream the Entire 2012 Summer Olympics

http://www.pcworld.com/article/25151...ml#tk.rss_news

At least for Olympic junkies, they won't have to wait for the NBC live show to find out the results from earlier in the day.

I hope it works better than the Microsoft partnership they had. I could never seem to get that one to play.

So excited that you will be able to see everything live!!!!!

I had no problems with the previous live streaming solution. In fact, the thing I liked about that was that for events they weren't covering, they just used the pool feed, which had no play-by-play or color commentary, and didn't cut away to show some ostensibly heart-warming human interest story.

We cut the cable cord a few months ago. We were planning on subscribing for a month just to watch the Games, but now we won't have to. Huzzah!

It would be GREAT if the Youtube app on AppleTV was updated to full support this. I'd also buy a Roku if I had to.

I'm going to love this. I won't have to put up with all those 'touching' get-to-know the athlete segments. I think NBC had more of that crap than they did of actual events but this partnership will hopefully allow everyone to watch whatever events they want when they want.

LOL I was gonna say the exact same thing. Is that an official promo? That's pretty astounding when you think of the staggering amount of thought that goes into something like a logo for the Olympics, and this is what they went with.

Yeah, those are the official mascots, and that's the logo for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games. (The Paralympic version is the one that's shown, but the Olympic logo is pretty much the same.)

And yeah, they're horrible.

The mascots remind me of a future descendent of Clippy, that annoying paperclip from Office.

Wasn't Atlanta's just a walking flame or something? Or am I thinking of a different year's olympics?

Edit: ahh, nope... Atlanta's was Izzy, a blue thing:
While not great, it's still way better than these things that London has.

Somebody's been watching too many episodes of ReBoot.

Or not enough.
