Someone leaving The Office! *Possible Spoiler??*
More turnover at Dunder Mifflin: James Spader will not be returning to The Office next season.
“James always wanted this to be a one-year arc, and he now leaves us having created one of the most enigmatic and dynamic characters in television,” Office showrunner Paul Lieberstein said in a statement. “He’s been a great friend to me and the show, helping us successfully transition into the post-Michael Scott years, and I’m grateful for that.”
News of Spader’s exit was first reported by Variety. It’s one of three departures producers may be forced to contend with at season’s end, the second being Mindy Kaling (who has a pilot in the mix at Fox) and the third being Rainn Wilson (who is circling a possible Dwight-centric spinoff).
It’s unclear how Spader’s character, Dunder Mifflin/Sabre CEO Robert California, will be written out.

Somebody might complain about the title spoiler. Not me since I already knew.
It's a shame they didn't keep the character as interesting as he was in last year's finale.
OTOH, looks like they fixed Catherine Tate's character. I'd like her to stick around.

It's news not a spoiler. Isn't it?? It's not like his character is getting killed the next episode or something.
There fixed just in case.

I'm not surprised. I like him sometimes but other times I can't stand him. I wonder if Catherine Tate is sticking around.

Thank god. Spader is one of those actors I consider "dealbreakers"... I can't stand him at all, and wasn't happy when they brought him on full time. He really wasn't on the show that much so it wasn't bad, but even the times he was there I really didn't find him funny... The only humor his presence added to the show came from how other characters interacted with his character (for example, the usually cool Jim turning into a bumbling idiot). I just didn't find the character to have a point.
But it's all good. He didn't ruin the show for me since he wasn't in it that much, and since it was all temporary that's fine with me. I don't think I'll ever get the appeal. I can't stop laughing at this quote:

HUH??? That statement has no basis in reality. The guy was barely even on the show.

Too bad. He was a funny change of pace on the show.
I really dislike the British woman and he she doesn't return.

Bummer about Mindy Kaling.. I think her character is very funny in small doses.
Dwight spinoff == failure most likely, so he'll be back.

I didn't like her either, but I had no idea she was transsexual.

Regardless of whether people like Kelly Kapoor, Mindy Kaling is one of the head writers on the show as well, so if she leaves, there will be a bit of a hole there.
