HR10-250 and U-verse

My apologies if this has been discussed before, but none of my search terms came up with anything. I have (2) HR10-250 units that I use for OTA recording. A little over a month ago we switched to U-verse phone and internet from DSL and POTS. I'm now getting a message that the units have been unsucessful in dialing out. Is there a work around for this, or do I even need to worry about it? I always thought they dialed in to get guide info but it's currently up to date.

Thanks in advance.

JD

Don't worry about it. The nag message is the only ill effect. Some people find that a DSL filter inserted inline for the modem helps with dialout, if you are so inclined.

U-Verse phone is actually VoIP, so there's likely not much you can do, other than see if AT&T has some special settings they can apply to your line. Call them and tell them you're having trouble with an alarm system or a fax line and see if they can help. It's not going to be a DSL filter problem.

It's how software updates were delivered and I believe how the TiVo got it's service status (but that may be satellite delivered). It was also used for PPV and uploading diagnostic and other miscellaneous data, but it wasn't absolutely required for operation of the box. DirecTV just always wants to have a return path from their boxes whenever possible, so they do what they can to encourage it.

Guide data was/is delivered by satellite, so that is unaffected by lack of phone access.
