How does Amazon know what I watch on Tivo?

Maybe this is a coincidence and maybe it's not, but every morning, I check to see what Amazon is offering up for the day in the Gold Box deals. If you are familiar with Amazon they offer up your picks each day as well. Well this morning I do my usual and to my surprise, they are offering seasons of Criminal Minds and Supernatural in my picks. At first I was like nah, I'll just Tivo them as they rerun, but then it occured to me, I just starting Tivo'ing Criminal Minds and I've always Tivo'd Supernatural. How the heck did Amazon figure out I like those shows. I've NEVER been interested in Criminal Minds up until the last couple of months and have never looked at anything related to it on Amazon. Either this is some crazy coincidence or I think I know what Tivo and Amazon are up to.

Those titles aren't showing up for me in my Gold Box deals so maybe it is tailored to you.

Like I said these titles are showing up in "Jeff's Picks" not in the general Gold Box deals. So yes, they are tailored specifically for me and somehow Amazon knows I started watching or am interested in Criminal Minds and Supernatural.

it's probably based on amazon purchases and Amazon VOD viewing. I think everything on my list looks like items(or similar items) I purchased or watched in the past.
