Wow. Just wow. I have been really enjoying this show and this episode blew me away. I was at the edge of my seat and a bit in shock at the ending. Of what Aiden does with Bernie and then the twist at the very end.

I haven't seen this as the UK series, so I don't know how close they are following that plot.

I thought it was interesting was that the mom said the dvd was of two people screwing in a hotel but didn't mention the vampire/bloody part. Do living humans see something different?

Maybe she turned it off before the real show started.

Yeah, she said she "saw enough" when he asked her what they saw of the DVD.

I was surprised at the ending as well, although I thought it made sense given the circumstances.

Especially compared to the UK version where

he turns the kid into a vamp with the mother's reluctant blessing, and the mother and son go off on their own. That just didn't make as much sense to me. How long until her kid got hungry and went for the closest food source available?

Thanks - I didn't know that and I was almost sort of expecting it in the hospital but when it didn't happen I was mentally moving on and then bam, he pops up and then bam the kids are killed then bam Aiden does what he does and then bam we find out it was all manipulation. Just wow.

I did have a bit of a problem/question about Aiden being so prominent at the funeral. I guess the Mom had resolved her issues with him by then, but it seemed odd.

See, I was expecting Aiden to kill the kid when they left the hotel room together. I was a bit disappointed when I thought it was only a hunting trip. The episode redeemed itself when he staked the kid.

I figured that after the kid was hit, Mom saw Aiden perform CPR, and potentially save the kid's life, so she was ok with him visiting at the hospital and being at the funeral after that.
