Just got a refurb Tivo Premiere and the HDMI output doesn't work

I just recently received a refurb'd Premiere and hooked it up the other night. Connected it via HDMI like all of my other sources, powered it on, got the getting started screen... and then nothing. TV reports no video input. Hmm.. okay. Try a different HDMI... same thing. Try a different cable... same thing. Tried Component cables, received video. Interesting. Went back to HDMI, still no video.

Any ideas on what it could be? Tivo support was less than stellar in trying to figure it out. They are claiming it is the cable.. however they sent me the cable with the unit. On top of that, I've tried a known working HDMI cable and it didn't work.

Did you try pushing the input button on the front of the Tivo?

That is supposed to cycle between the various output options.

Yep, tried that as well. Pressed it about 10-12 times, no change.

I'm confused. Just tell TiVo you have tried their cable and another one with both showing the same problem. Not sure how they would keep giving you the run around there.

I talked to them again and they said they can exchange it. I guess I am frustrated that their tech support doesn't try to figure out the issue more, they just jump to the exchange resolution.

jump to the exchange resolution? An exchange is what I would have demanded. Other than the cable and settings there would not be anything else to do.
