First time I watched it. One word, TERRIBLE!

The banter between Paisley and Underwood was some of the worst I've ever seen. Both really unfunny, and offensive at the same time.

They managed to make a joke about Tsunamis, The Gulf oil spill and Tiger woods all in the same show!

I think they would be wise to punt on the hosts altogether like the Grammy's tried that one year.

Oh and by the way, Miranda Lambert's gown should have gotten an award. Seriously.

I've noticed a trend with discussions of country music awards shows; nobody ever seems to mention the awards themselves. One of these days, somebody is going to come up with a country music awards show that consists entirely of performances, and then they list the categories and winners in the closing credits.

(Better idea: bring back Battle of the Network Stars - if CBS wins, the Academy of Country Music awards are the ones that "matter" that year; if ABC wins, the Country Music Association awards do; if Fox wins, the new American Country awards do; if NBC wins, maybe they'll broadcast the Tivo Community country awards. In case the show can't be held, they'll do what they do every year - ignore all of the awards except the Grammys.)

Why is everyone making such a huge deal about Gwyneth Paltrow singing? This isn't the first song she's had out!

I liked George Strait and Miranda Lambert. I hated Sugarland. My enjoyment of country music, as a genre, is still high, but I dislike much of what's been out in the last 4-5 years.

Years ago I heard a 10 second snippit of Achy Breaky Heart and thought it was the worst piece of music I had heard in a long time. I hope Country music has gone on to better things but it sounds like it hasn't.
