ESPN Goal Line on FiOS

I am trying to see channel 571, ESPN Goal Line on my Tivo HD boxes with Verizon FiOS service. I just got off the phone with FiOS, and after resetting one of my cable cards, still no picture. FiOS tech support claims the channel is temporarily unavailable, but I find that hard to believe on a Saturday afternoon. I think he just wanted me off the line.

Right now, when I tune the channel through any of my Tivos, I get a blank screen. I assume there should be something showing, even though this channel is supposed to be the college football version of the NFL RedZone (showing only teams that are close to scoring).

Is anybody able to actually view this channel? (FiOS or other service?) Anybody that has FiOS in Pittsburgh able to view this channel?

I have been waiting for it to show up on the guide, and I still don't see it.

I have FIOS in PA, and all I get is a black screen. I'll have to check Saturday to see if it actually broadcasts anything. I'll try to post an update this weekend.

Thanks for this thread, though. I didn't even know this channel existed until I saw this!

I am in Pittsburgh (South Fayette) with Fios and am getting this channel fine. Like the other poster said, it is not been added to the guide yet. I went in to options->channel list and checked it. It shows without guide data.

I have watched it on Sat and just checked there is something on it when no games are playing.

Gotta be something with your cable cards. Did you have them reset your cable card? Are you getting all other channels? Does it show in the option->channels->channel list?

Bigguy126, when did you start your service with FiOS (or reup your contract)?

I believe that my problem comes from having the FiOS "Extreme HD 2009" package, as opposed to the plain old "Extreme HD" package, since I reupped my contract last November. I've contacted FiOS at least five times about this, and that is the only explanation that made sense. It takes a lot of digging, but I finally found a reference to the "Extreme HD 2009" package on the channel listing portion of the FiOS website. If you look at the channel listing for Extreme HD 2009 by itself, the channel does NOT show up, but if you compare "Extreme HD" to "Extreme HD 2009", the channel shows up as available on both packages.

If I were to redo my contract now, the "Extreme HD" package is $5 more a month for fewer channels overall, so I guess I just will do without. I need to check if I can access Goal Line online, though.

Ahhhhh - That must be it. My contract was up and I had like you the extreme
Hd package. I called and they gave me the Ultimate for the same price for a 2 year commitment. You are right they did tell me that the NFL red zone was part of the ultimate, so it stands to reason that the espn one is too.

Might try to call and see if you can get the same deal. I asked if they went to IPTV (therefore making the tivo's worthless) would be reason to get out of the contract and they said it was. Was a no brainer for me get more channels including all showtimes and epix along with NFL redzone for same price. Faster internet too( 35/35).
