Fox Movie Ch/Comcast #506 - Problem with Signal Msg.

I cannot get Fox Movie Channel to tune in. I have Comcast cable in the Seattle-area (I'm in Kenmore, WA, Zip 98028) and TiVo has always given me this message for Channel 506 (it's a TiVo message, not Comcast):

"Problem with the signal on this cable channel. Trying again."

On my channel list 506 is checked. The signal strength is always in the high 80s. FMC is a channel that I should be receiving (I have verified this with Comcast). My box is the standard Premiere, un-modded, s/w v14.5-01-3-746. I have never been able to receive FMC since I first got Comcast about 4 weeks ago but they don't usually have anything on that interests me.

Bump - Does anybody have a clue? Should I call TiVo or what?

Have you tried running the guild setup again or call comcast and have send another hit to the tivo.

Sorry - what is "guild" setup (or do you mean guided)? No, I haven't run the setup since it was first installed.

Try the guided setup again. If that does not work call Comcast and have to send a hit to the tivo cable cards.

Same issue here. I just always assumed it was a premium channel that required a subscription.

Comcast says that FMC is part of my Preferred package. They just sent a "hit" to my TiVo and the agent told me to do a channel scan and TiVo gave me this message:

"Channel Scanning is not available for your current setup."

Calling TiVo as Comcast agent snarkily informed that me that "We are not TiVo."

I just called TiVo and they walked me thru the steps to take to see if I am subscribed to Ch 506:

1. Tune to the channel in question;
2. Go to Messages & Settings > Account & System Information > CableCARD Decoder > CableCARD options (for installers) > CableCARD Menu > Conditional Access;
3. On the Conditional Access screen in the second "paragraph" find the line that reads "Auth:" "S" means Subscribed, "NS" is Not Subscribed

Apparently, I am somehow Not Subscribed to FMC. I have a TiVo case # so now I get to call Comcast and plead my case once more (wish me luck).

I checked 506 on mine it does have s. The Tivo rep is right Comcast needs to get it right.

caddyroger: Do you also get the Sports & Entertainment Package? Finally, a pleasant and knowledgeable "tier 1" agent listened thoroughly to my concerns and she kindly informed that Fox Movie Channel only comes with the Sports & Entertainment Package, for whatever bizzarre reason(s). I told her that while there have not been many programs on Fox that I have been interested in watching, multiple Comcast agents have told me that it was included in my package. I then enquired about Showtime and she gave me 3 months for free (gotsa get my Weeds fix!). Finally, a resolution to the FMC mystery.
