HD rebooting (since 11.0h?) -- kickstart q's

HD with FIOS cable card and a WD expander.

Our HD has rebooted twice Thursday night, once Friday night and once Saturday morning. After the first reboot, I looked and saw that we had 11.0h, but I don't know how long we've had it.

Before the morning reboot, I found it on a dialog I've never seen before, which said it was unable to retrieve the channel info from the cable card. (A dialog, not the spinner.) This probably indicates another reboot in the night. The dialog let me retry, started the spinner, then rebooted a minute later when we were trying to watch a recording.

Anyway, I want to try some kickstarts. One thing I haven't seen clearly stated is if the kickstarts are going to wipe our shows.

Kickstart 54 is pointing the finger at my expander.

So it's off to the upgrade faq to find the current preferred internal drives.

I'd try disconnecting the expander and rebooting. They seem to be the root of many, many, many problems around here.

If it works, go to ebay and sell the expander, they are not worth the hassle, IMHO. A simple internal 1TB drive upgrade is easy, cheap, bug free, and no external device hanging off the Tivo.

If that does not help, I'm not sure what else to offer, but I'm sure someone can chime in.
