The Soup - generic description, duplicates?

Anyone having issues on Comcast with The Soup? I have a season pass for only new episodes and it's been recording nonstop because the descriptions are generic for the past week. What gives?

I've been having the same problem for the last week or two. Sort of annoying since every day, I have like 3 or 4 new recordings of the same episode. What hour of the day does E! *not* broadcast the show?
I don't have Comcast, though, I have Armstrong.

same problem. i ended up setting a repeated manual recording for 10:30pm on Friday nights. otherwise, like you, i just had the soup recording constantly, whether or not it had an "r" in the description for repeat, they all still recorded.

I've noticed this the past week myself. It coincided with my switch from Bright House to Fios, so I thought it was just me...

The Tribune data does correctly indicate in the description that all except the 10p broadcast are (R) repeats, but with no episode number, TiVo treats it as a generic broadcast.

The WL method used for the Daily Show, etc, results in no episodes scheduled for recording.

My workaround at this time was to cancel my SP, and create a recurring Manual Recording of E! at 10p on Fridays. If it's a new Soup, it will record as Manual: The Soup, if it's something else in the guide it will show in the NPL as Manual: Random Title, which I can quickly identify and delete.

Anyway, thought I'd share my idea. I welcome any other ideas you might have.

i have the same problem with The Suzi Orman Show and The Clark Howard Show - all airings show as new. So my Tivo records them all. The only way around it is to set a manual recording for the new episode time.

Let me second that, ugh.

If this keeps up I am gonna stop watching The Soup. Not worth the aggravation IMHO.

Same problem here. Cox Phoenix here. I could find no solution either. It really sucks that I have to pay for this faulty program guide data that is of no use.

Same type of problem, but with BBC Newsnight on OTA. It keeps wanting to record EVERY instance of the show--same episode--which is repeated on the main and multiplex channels SEVERAL times through out the weekend.

I just go into the TO DO LIST and manually clear all the repeats. PITB. We are feel each other's pain.

Same problem here with Comcast. I reported a lineup issue here last week:
http://www.tivo.com/setupandsupport/...neup_tool.html
and also referenced this thread, and so far no response or fix from Tivo. Sad since supposedly the guide data is part of what we pay the monthly service far. I'd recommend others on this thread also report the lineup issue, and hopefully if more people complain, this will get fixed?

All episodes of "The Soup" on zap2it.com have generic descriptions. It is likely that there is a miscommunication between E! and Tribune or E! is only providing generic information. Either way, any time a show has generic info Tivo errs on the side of caution and treats it as new in regard to a SP. I'm not sure reporting a line up problem will help much as the channel line up and show are correct.

Just to reinforce this, this was also happening on my Timewarner DVR service. I only switched to tivo a few days ago. With my Timewarner DVR, this started happening around the same time that the original post reported the issue.

ditto for me & the Soup. I may go the Manual recording route.

Another show with wrong 1st aired dates (all episodes the same 2001 date or something)
Is a local Indianapolis show, Steel Horse. Yeah I reported it.

I got a reply from the lineup support folks saying they won't help and I need to call tech support at 877-367-8486 during business hours about this issue. They now consider the issue resolved with that reply.

Lame.

I wasted over 20 minutes over a week ago talking to a CS agent to convince him that this was a guide data problem (he had me go through the motions of recreating the season pass and rebooting my Tivos to waste time). He finally said he escalated the problem. Given that it's been so long without resolution, I've given up and deleted my season pass for the Soup and scheduled a manual recording.

Lame lame lame.

Lame.
because it is not a lineup issue but a problem of E! not supplying show info to Tribune Media.

John Stewart of the Daily Show has TiVo DVRs, he even publicly acknowledged the problem of Comedy Central not supplying the show info to Tribune. Still no resolution even with the HOST OF THE SHOW wanting it resolved.

The Soup, Web Soup, Attack of the Show, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job and more all suffer from this.

It makes me want to delete my SP because deleting them from To Do is such a pain.

Mine just started doing this last week and I looked at the season pass setting and it was set to repeats and first runs. ??? I never set it to that. Even though I set it back to first run only it still records them all. What the heck happened? For at least a year it has only recorded one new show a week then something changed my season pass settings. Ugh indeed.

Comcast, CA.
